"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death." 1 Cor 6:9
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals" 1 Tim 1:9-10 "
realizing the fact that (civil) law is not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers" Rom 1:26-27
"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

Leviticus 18: In Leviticus 18:22 it is written:
"Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." (NIV)
In and of itself, it seems very clear. But look at the surrounding context, and something more comes to bear on this verse.

You know what else the bible condemns?
Shaving, tattoos, eating pork or shellfish, and wearing poly-cotton blend clothing.
Do you consider any of those to be acceptable?

Question: "What does the Bible say about gay marriage / same sex marriage?"
Answer: Before we look at gay marriage / same sex marriage, first we have to remember what the Bible says about homosexuality. The Bible clearly and consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9).
Ah, good old Leviticus. Do you consider it a sin for a man to touch a woman who is having her period? How about crop rotation?
Suki_Chan_Kaggy
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. A person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27),
Bullshit. Not only is it wrong, but Romans doesn't even claim that.

and ultimately because of his or her own choice.
Care to explain to all of the people who have been assaulted because they were gay, to all the families of people who were killed for being gay, that it was a choice? All the people who have been oppressed because of it? Care to explain to them how they're choosing to suffer?
How about all the gay people who have tried desperately for years to be straight but can't? Want to explain it to them how they're choosing to be gay despite the fact that
if they had a choice, they'd be straight?

A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins.
Or maybe more like how people might be born with blond hair or a predisposition to heart disease.
Suki_Chan_Kaggy
That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires.
You know what the bible says about people who can't keep themselves from temptation? It says they should get married so they can indulge themselves without sinning.
You're denying them a way to avoid sin.

If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.
Prove it or shut the ******** up. Homosexuality is not an emotion. Prove it's comparable to anger
in any way.
Suki_Chan_Kaggy
We also have to remember that homosexuality is just as forgivable a sin as all other sins.
Except that nobody here's been able to form a convincing argument that it's a sin
at all. In 300 pages of this thread and several other threads like it.

God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc.
Prove homosexuality is anything like any of those. Especially considering all those others are directly based on actions, not on inherent parts of your personality.

God’s love and desire to save extends to homosexuals (John 3:16; Romans 5:8 ). God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
Then explain why the Exodus group, and other "ex-gay" "therapy" groups have such a pathetic "success" rate, something along the lines of .5%, if I recall correctly.
