Marriage was started at the beginning of time with Adam and Eve and God clearly felt that marriage was between a man and women because he created male and female not male and male or vise versa. In the teachings of Paul (Romans 1:18-32 to be exact) homosexuality is said to be a sin and that God will send his wrath upon them. Also in 1 Corinthians 6:9 Paul states that the homosexuals will "not inherit the kingdom of God." And how is this judging? I do not think that it's judging when God, who inspired man as you said before, himself said this.

excuse me, hate to burst your bubble, elf lord...but you're judging the christian people as a whole aren't you? you're discriminating against a group of people because of the way that they are and an idea they have that they believe is true. this is essentially the same as what you think christians are doing to gays. supposedly, if we disagree with them, we are judging them. the reason we "judge" them is because of the way they are and the idea they have, according to you. so you're contradicting yourself on that point.
Haven't you thought the idea for creating this kind of thread may have been to reach those who still young and open minded?

With the differences between Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 it's pretty clear that the creation stories were meant to be taken as Hebrew mythology and there was a talking snake which is also a pretty big indicator. Now as for Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6 and 1 Timothy 1 there are a lot of translational issues that cast doubt upon the clarity of this condemnation. Aside from all that how is not an act of judgment to pick a single type of sin and discriminate against those who commit it? According to a recent survey at least nine out of ten americans are guilty of sexual immorality through premarital sex. So how can these same americans turn around and condemn their brothers and sisters in such a way?
All the translational issues are explained in the second post of page 1.

Are you daft? Can you read? If so, read this. Or read the OP, just please...read something.

Because you are judging and you do not have YHVH on your side.

Blasphemer. You call us sinful, and yet this statemet destroys the words of the God we worship.

I'm not bitching, I'm just trying to get the point that if the younger members of Gaia didn't have access to the M&R it may defeat the purpose of this type of thread.

It's hard to teach the children if the children are unable to ask questions of the thread regulars.

We've got several younger members who contribute.
Angsty kids who can't be bothered to read an OP or the forum rules however, need not apply. She's referring specifically to people who break the rules continually and ******** it up for the rest of us.
I don't think anyone's arguing that a limit based purely on age is in order.

That's part of what PMs are for, and the old ED mentorship program.
Posting a question in-thread that isn't an argument usually gets a thoughtful response as well.
Information isn't under lockdown.
Posting LOL UR RONG I DIDNT REDE TEH FURTS POST ought to be, IMO, grounds for denying someone access to the forum.

Long posts don't make a difference in it's original form this thread's OP was only about one paragraph long and still no one bothered to read it then. Also what was true back then and may still be true now is that it was those random annoying a** hit and run comments that kept this thread alive by bumping it up and adding about five to ten replies. So I still believe that type of restriction would go against the original intent of this kind of thread.

Regardless of what happened before in this thread, the people who did not read the then-OP ended up polluting the thread. It's the post and run remarks that need to not occur. There's more opportunity for in-depth discussion and debate without them, and they irritate those of us who do read posts, beg repetitive answers, and generally waste our time and bandwidth.
M&R is not a speed forum. If there weren't users running around, posting garbage in the other threads, there would be no issues with thread hits or necromancy.

Okay, I see. Well if you ever manage to build your utopia of an ED then I suppose your plan could work.
