I need a cosmetologist, or someone smart with hair dyes and not frying hair. I *tried* bleaching my hair, and I parted my hair in a weird way to do so, and I didn't leave it in long enough, (I actually have a question about the time you keep it in) and so now my hair is black, brown-red, white (at the hair lines) and yellow-orange. My boyfriend nicknamed me Calico yesterday. Anywho here are my questions:
1. Do I start the timer after I've applyed all the color into my hair?
2. How long should I go around looking like this? When is it safe to bleach again to fix it?
3. Is there anything else besides conditioner to give moisture back to my hair...(please keep in mind I'm a broke college student)

Please and thank you for your help, any advice would be appreciated.
You ******** up your hair, let's just get that across.
You need to find a master colorist at a salon and have them do a color correction.

wow. you know that thought never crossed my mind thanks so much. stare
Well, everyone's hair reacts differently to bleach, so it's hard to say what is safe for you. I've been bleaching my hair since I was eleven years old (mainly for costumes and various acting roles), and I've never had an issue with frying my hair or scalp.

To be safe, you could use olive oil (or coconut oil) overnight for a few days (up to one week) on your scalp and hair, and then try bleaching it again (make sure to wash the oil out whenever you shower, and make sure your hair is completely dry and clean when you dye it). The trick is to apply it evenly, which could be hard to do by yourself if you have long hair (if your hair is cropped shorter than shoulder length, running a comb through it to distribute the dye evenly directly after you've applied it should be fine). If your hair is longer, have someone check it for you to make sure you've applied it evenly.

Start the timer after you've applied the dye. If your scalp starts to hurt badly, or feels like it is burning, rinse the dye out immediately. Usually bleach causes the scalp to itch a bit, and you can use a comb to "poke" away the itch, but don't use it to scratch the area. If the itch is unbearable, or is coupled with intense pain/burning, rinse the dye out. If your scalp turns red, or looks like it is blistering, rinse the dye out (with cool water). Usually leaving the dye in for half an hour to forty-five minutes is best. You can leave it in a bit longer (up to an hour) if you're not experiencing any discomfort.

Besides conditioner, the best ways to keep hair moisturized is by using the oils I mentioned (Coconut oil is the better one to use, but Olive or Grapeseed are fine too). Usually you can get these oils at a local supermarket for a reasonable price.

Sounds like you fried your hair to oblivion.
Go to a professional salon and have them look at it and give you their advice.
Next time, don't bleach your hair at home if you don't have a ******** clue what you're doing.

Recusant Raskolnikov
Drink an entire bottle of bleach instead of putting it on your hair. That should sort it out.

Aww, that's so sweet thanks for your help though I don't think it'll help my hair.

Really? Ingestion of bleach has been medically proven to eliminate any qualms or insecurities you might have about your hair. Or anything else apart from your imminent death, for that matter.
