o_o 13-2 is poo. They've gone too far away from the original ways of FF games to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the new stuff, but other stuff (ie. the mog battle thing) is freaking weird in 13-2. Also, Serah is a dumb main character. e_e;
I'd have to agree, for me after Final Fantasy X, I started straying away from the series slowly..I mean they aren't terrible but they aren't what they use to be either.

i'm not saying this mean-like, so please don't take it that way ^_^;
but.. it's a game series. not all of the stuff will be the same, but they'll keep the FF feel to it. they want to try new things out, and i know not many people like change, but the change of this series isn't meant to be looked at and told "wow.. you're not like you used to be, why couldn't you stay the same?" it's meant to be looked at and for the changes to be embraced, like "wow.. this is different, but i like how it works with this" or "cool, now i don't have to wait my turn, i can kill this monster now while my partner helps at the same time" or something. nothing stays the same, it's life... it's the same for video games. i think FF10 was a wonderful game, i still play it over and over. sure there were some FF games that didn't catch my attention, but honestly not all new FF games are bad.. i'm playing FF13-2 and while i'm watching certain scenes, all i can think is "wow.. some people have actually quit before they got to this part all because they hated how FF has changed.. but it's not bad, this is a really good storyline, i wish they could see this" i mea the first place it just doesn't fit my taste either, I never said change was a bad thn crap.. i almost cried on one scene! this one really brings FF back to life, it's emotional like [apparently] "all the good old ones were".
I never implied that the game was bad I.E, game play style and what not, I can deal with game play changes. I just didn't like the story in general nor did I like X-2 and Final Fantasy 12 the graphics are great and the battle system and what not isn't bad either..but the story line just wasn't for me. I mean overall the thing I didn't like about it was I found it to be boring and slow paced in 13 although I can't say much about 13-2 yet since since I haven't played it yet.

i meant the story line too x.x i should have implied that, but i didn't think about it. anyways, i agree with you on X-2 xD i didn't exactly like it all that much.. except for when you beat the game, everything carries over into a new game. which got annoying after a while.. but anyways. the story in FF12 is what got me hooked, but it's also what had something missing in it.
but anyways, FF13 is basically a slow-paced story, because the game is supposed to be 4 discs long, which it is for the Xbox version. and since the PS3 uses Bluray disc games, it can fit more information on it, so they put more of a story to it. normally we're used to short FF games (besides 7,8 and 9 basically], like with short story-lines, but now since we have the technology to make the stories longer without having to keep putting in discs, we do it. the story carries out longer and so it makes everything feel slow and slow-paced and maybe at points boring, and i think that maybe if people knew that it was a long story, they'd have been more prepared for it or something.. or if they realized the reality in it. everyone's complaining and moping but only because they're either gonna be turned into a monster, or be crystallized alive.. it's understandable. plus i noticed how some people complain about no one having a personality x.x it's easily explainable.. but everyone in that game had a personality based on their whole life and on the events happening.

I realize it was slowly developing intentionally that's understandable it makes it that much easier to get to know the background of each character depth but as I said it just wasn't for me. I mean all RPG games depend on a few main elements, character development, battle system, music, graphics sometimes and story line. Generally most people favorite a game when then enjoy the story, had fun and or could relate to a character. I had a difficult time playing through the game and I had to grit my teeth through well over half of the game and had to force my self to beat, I payed for it I may as well see how the ending is. Although what I don't understand is why people seem so surprised or offended when people don't particularly like this game in the franchise. What ever happened to the saying "You're entitled to your opinion" I feel whenever people ask which is your least favorite and I mention XIII as one of them, the fan base gets in an uproar and rants how my opinion is wrong.

I might get the game when it drops down in price this month. Sorry, it isnt looking good in sales in the USA. off topic but just saying, Prince of Persia flop in sales making 59.99 to 29.99 in less than a month (I know, I bought the game, then traded it back in for 12 effin dollars that year <.< wink
....
It came out 3 days ago.
How many sales do you expect it to have in 3 days?

For that matter, where are you even getting sales figures FROM, since it hasn't even had a week yet?
Nobody reports sales for the first 3 days. They report for the first week.
forgive me. I dont have a chart or anything but other than what the Gamestop associates told me.

The Preorders for the game was relatively low from the first one from what he mention to me. He made an example from saying that the preorders were over a million for the first, the second was less than 400,000. Of course were not adding in the walk-ins and like you said, its only been out for a few days so maybe the weekends might beef up the sales.

The reviews seem to be pretty decent since nowadays, people go by word of mouth or what they read instead of trying the game itself.
Not to mention that Gamestop is not the only store selling the game.
Also considering both Amazon and (I believe) Best Buy also offered separate preorder bonuses, which means people will have also preordered from them if they preferred the other bonuses.

There's also a difference between "bad sales" and "sales are not as high as the previous game".

You also gotta take into consideration that GameStop EASILY had the weakest Preorder Bonus.

well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion ^_^; i stated mine of course. i know that not everyone is going to like the game. when someone doesn't like it i point out good things about it, or just talk about it or something, and usually they start getting into it more, but i never rant and rave or complain about someone just really not liking it.. the only time i rant and rave is when people don't like it for stupid reasons. which you don't, your's are understandable.
and really, if thats what you didn't like in the first game, they fixed all that for the 2nd one xD if you're skeptical about it, there's always the option of renting it.
User ImageIt's not a bad game in any way. But I hate the fact that they want to center it around Serah now. She was an unimportant character in XIII, and I think that's what they should've kept her.User Image

lol i agree in a way. but i noticed that once you change your party leader to Noel, the story line is still the same, but the little Live things will be centered around Noel. Like, Serah will be asking you the questions instead of answering them. it'll make you feel like you're Noel and not Serah. i do enjoy her as a character though, now that i've advanced in the game a bit.

Oh, no. I'm still complaining about the games being s**t. I haven't played XIII-2, but I've seen enough to think it will play basically like XIII.
I find it funny how people complained about that how much characters sucked in XIII, but now they're complaining about that how you can't play as them.
