Final Fantasy versus XIII

Its been coming out for about six years now. And we still know. Ext to nothing about it. Im still going to get it because Im a final fantasy fan buff. But honestly Ive completely lost interest in it because of a complete lack of info and a nonexistent release date.

Probably...Square enix says to Nomura... "you want gaming to be an art? Screw that, make us money and make another Final Fantasy XIII for fan Service." Or did Nomura's brain get greedy with its success just like Square did with Final Fantasy 10.

Final fantasy 10 was never meant to have a sequel at first, they gave it a sequel because of popularity. And made Final Fantasy 10- 2 a giant fan service... the kind of fan service that went against what the original was all about... the main characters were 3 girls with nothing but perverted jokes and implying sex appeal scenes... While also being a parody of Charlie's angels.

Much like in the same way Final fantasy XIII was suppose to be a stand alone game with 2 others exploring other worlds and not have a direct sequel.

Square had a hard on for XIII before XIII even came out. ANNOUNCEMENT: Final Fantasy XIII! But wait! There's more! Versus and Agito as well! Maybe even Haerarsis! And potentionally two more!

If the fans want a sequel to XIII we'll give it to them! No one liked XIII!? Well here's a sequel anyway! And a potential threquel!

Type-0 not out yet? Patent Type-1, -2, and -3 just in case!

I too wish that Square would just give it up and work on XV. Seriously. Though as much as I would like to see Versus renamed to XV, I seriously doubt it for one major reason, and that is that it's set to the same mythos as XIII. Considering all 14 major titles are set in completely different universes, they would have to completely scrap any l'Cie or fal'Cie they've created, and completely eliminate Etro, and possibly Lindzei, Pulse, Bhunivelze and Mwynn from the plot, which I doubt they'd do since Etro (at least) seems to be a large part of it.

Final Fantasy 13-2 came out not too long ago. So I'm sure sometime this year or next Final Fantasy Versus 13 will come out eventually. Just have patience.

Let's just go over all the stuff I've heard people say over the years...

- Versus has NEVER had a release date. Ever. Those who thought it was supposed to be released x amount of months after XIII were sorely mistaken.

- XIII, XIII-2, and Type-0 did NOT halt Versus XIII's development in any way, shape, or form. XIII and XIII-2 had one development team and one director. Type-0 had a different development team and a different director. Versus XIII also has its own development team and director (the director being Nomura).

- XIII/XIII-2, Type-0, and Versus are NOT connected. They are not in the same world. They are not in the same universe. The only thing they share is a common mythology, and even then the interpretations of that mythology will be different between games. They are not, and will never be related. They were never INTENDED to be related. And the inclusion of a XIII-2 to the FNC series did not in any way impact the other games.

- The game, despite what you make think, has not been in development since 2006 (the year it was announced). In fact, the game never started development until 2008, and what you saw back in 2006 was just a concept they were thinking about using.

- The game is not using the same resources XIII was. In other words, they started nearly from scratch. In fact, they created an entirely new engine just for lighting (which has yet to be shown in any trailer).

- A possibility for the "delay" (it can't really be a delay if it was never given a period of expected release) might be Nomura's busy schedule. He has lately been working on Kingdom Hearts 3D.

- The game IS coming out. It has not been cancelled. It has not been tossed aside for a while. It is being worked on, and has been since 2008. The game simply isn't ready yet. They're polishing every little detail, and seemingly improving the graphics every year (those trailers you saw in 2011? It's going to look BETTER than that).

You do raise all good points. I guess I just got a little annoyed for a moment after watching the trailer and remembering all the years it has been on the table. I really am looking ford to it and I hope that they end up talking about it at E3 this year. Hell if they did announce it as being changed to FFXV that would be pretty cool as well.

Seeing the way they inked Dissidia together, I'm still saying they were different worlds related to each other in the same muti-verse just not the same universe.

That's common knowledge. The sad thing is that people on here think it's new or excellent information when it is not.
