Kinda explains the taste in literature. Gues the library didn't have "Magic Schoolbus" in, so you had to settle for Twilight, eh?

Grow up, the reason you aren't getting any serious responses is because you come off as unintelligent. "Weak response" every post just shows that you need to either wake up or go back to another part of Gaia.

Twilight is notoriously bad from a literature standpoint. The writing is poor and Stephenie Meyer practically rapes a thesaurus. Edward is pretty much established as an abusive boyfriend pretty early in the series, but yet put in a positive light. That's nothing compared to the atrocious use of Mary Sues littered throughout the book. The main character herself is a disaster in terms of a character concept.

The whole book reads like a fanfiction, which is probably the entire reason it's so popular with young teenage girls. The main target audience.

I was thinking more along the lines of a mary sue self insertion...Bella is Meyers, without the weight and with aspergers (sp?) , creepy obsessions, and an inner ear problem affecting her balance.

Not to mention the mormon sensibilities.

It was bad enough that Edward is some sort of "savin it for marriage" prude...AND DON'T GIVE ME THAT "HE'S RELIGIOUS" ANGLE!!! Neither. The entire series is a sin against literature, folklore and mythology. Though Jacob would be the mildly preferable of the two, only insomuch as werewolves are normally preferable to vampires, the lesser of two evils (or in this case monstrous affronts to all that is good and decent in the aforementioned literature, folklore and mythology) is still evil, and thus I cannot in good conscious "support" either side, may they both rot in the pits of literary obscurity.

I have to backpedal a little here, though, because now that I'm thinking about it, I've read mary sues that were better. Not many, I grant you, but then again, I haven't exactly read a great quantity of fanfiction.

Wait wait wait, hold on a second. That teenage angsty crap is rated for 8th GRADERS? I mean, yeah in terms of poor writing skills, imagination, plot line, etc. I might be able to see that (though that wouldn't be doing 8th Grade literature justice), but in terms of content, that is probably NOT the kind of stuff that should be sitting around in the grade school library.
