I've never read the book, only online, satirical synopsis of the books, but I think that Jacob, from what I understand, is the much better character simply because he doesn't beat Bella about and doesn't treat her like crap. Though, his weird obsession for her child does make him seem a bit less attractive, but Edward is just a creep that controls her emotionally, and seems to be truly abusive.

Haha, think what you want, but I've read only the first chapter of the first book. I just couldn't handle the trite nature of the writing and put it down and never looked at it again.

I was dragged to the second movie because a female friend of mine thought that it'd be fun... But really, the story was pretty terrible on screen too, and I laughed in some inappropriate places earning a lot of nasty glares and shushes. The only good thing was the visuals of fight scenes and most of the wolves, not the black one.

Most of the information I got has been from online mock story lines.

first off, jacob and edward have nothing to do with Rob and Taylor. so you prob should leave out the besides they are hot in you top post. becuase taylor and rob are real people, and edward and jacob are fictional characters, no one is going to know what they really would look like seeing it is the reader's imagination

secondly, you would have to be a freaking idiot to not choose jacob, i only read new moon , and none of the others, and i would be heart broken if my boyfriend left me, i would sure as hell not come climbing back into his arm after he ditched me for 4 months, its called move on. and its sure as hell wrong for him to be there for her throughout the whole freaking book, only for her to not wanna take the relationship a step forward cuz she feels like she too much of a mess for him. OMG, who freaking thinks like that

Everyone in the theater when I was New Moon was laughing throughout. The angst in the books and movies is funny because its angsty and a little unbelievable.

Yes, the writting in her books is angsty and mary-sue but if you ignore the quality in the writting, the story isn't that bad. It's rather sweet and left me with a happy feeling when I finished the series.

I like Edward, because he's perfect. He's strong, he's fast, he cares about making Bella happy and protecting her from the dangers of his world, and he's emotionally torn over what he is - he's ashamed of it.

I don't like Jacob because he's pinening over another man's girl. He's knows that shes emotionally unavailable and goes for her anyway.

Well, I like both of them. But, I love how Jacob is so protective, and just damn hot. Edward is too pale and sickly looking in the movie. He's still pretty cute though. Jaocb, idk he's just so like, dominant. He acts older than 16. Idk what it is about him, it's pretty damn hot though.

Okay - in an attempt to actually answer the question: Jacob.

Edward creeps me out. He has a staring problem. He doesn't know what conversation is. He is always either sulking or worshiping Bella. Maybe the movies and the hype have taken over my train of thought, but right off - I can't think of many conversations they've had that didn't fall into one of those categories.
Jacob, on the other hand - doesn't beat himself up over every little thing, didn't take off for months, refusing to come back until he thought Bella was dead, and can actually converse with her. He could be an actually boyfriend, not just eye-candy that treats you as such as well.
