@cort
what if he looked even close to his age? If someone around 90 (yeah, 10 years younger, i know.) watched you while you slept and said he was fascinated by how she sleeps, i doubt you would find it anything but creepy.

yeah, I'm a guy and I've read the series to see what the hype is about... Now I wish I didn't... I think I lost several hundred brain cells per book. stare

Dear Lieriel Moon-Shade
Edward did try to make a clean break thats why he left like he did telling her the same day, makeing it so that it would be like "he'd never excited" because he wanted it to be a clean break if he didnt try to make it a clean break i think he wouldnt of went through her scrapbook and hiding the cd and plane tickets under the floor boards. and i also think he would of left alice jasper and emmett and carlile and esme (i didnt lise roselie because she doesnt like bella) say good by if he wasnt trying to make it a clean break. also they talk about her broken leg and how it was a clean break when he explains to her y he left like he did. stephinie meyer says u should read the series twice maybe u should try it i no the 1st time i read it i missed alot the first time i read it, try reading it again and u will under stand there situation better

*facepalm*
I will not lose a thousand more brain cells just to read a stupid no-sense vampire plup-fiction. I'd rather watch Neon Genisis Evaglion (I know I didn't spell that right). I've read it once. And Once is enough to put bile in my throat as I got tired of Bella's insistent overbearing idiotic absurd depression. Okay? It's retarded. God you go what 5 months being a 'zombie' without the one you love. Hell not even marriage spats are THAT bad. I can compare Bella right up to those women who kill themselves in their lovers bathroom after they left them. (The angry princess off 13 Ghosts, great movie.)
oh and just telling someone that you are leaving them does NOT give you a clean break. He even hid things that related to him or took them preventing a break that COULD become clean. (And who the hell looks under her floor boards to find hidden treasure?) If Edward cared about Bella, or her apparent compulsive idiotic obsession with him then he would have to slowly distance himself away. Like taking baby steps. Like how a married couple would sleep apart for a while If they were going through a bad spat. And just to be like Stephine....

Bella has undoubted enthusiasm for Edwards pulchritudinous. Edward has a inducement towards Bella because of her redolence.

I ask. what the hell kind of teen uses big words and idiotic phrases like 'i was irrevocably' in her own mind? I didn't even know what that means and I've read LOTS of books.

That is a little over the top for a first crush. Or love. I can understand true love deal, but hell. You can't really be SO in love with someone with just a few days knowing them. This is why Disney made Enchanted you know. To show that you don't always know that the first person you 'love' is the one for you.
Stephine is using fairytale syndrome. Which is something I just made up.
Basically it is when your male and female main characters fall in love without a second glance back. Ex. The princess kissed the frog and it turned into a prince, they immediately get married.
(I am so glad Disney is retelling it now and making it at least a little better....)
Sleep talkers do NOT make sense when they talk. Maybe some things make sense but not all. I can deal with 'I love you' and 'Edward' but not, 'I love Edward but this place is too green. Where is all my browns of Arizona? I miss my mommy, i want to talk with my mommy. I don't like it here. Edward, edward, edward, edward' okay?
Even if you are honest to someone it is STILL creepy. Just like how people say the truth hurts. It does, and the truth is often creepy. Like if i told someone that I liked to follow them home because they have pretty hair that I liked to look at ALL the time. That is creepy. I was being honest. By YOUR decree what I do and said would not be at ALL creepy. So therefore I should stalk this guy forever since I like his hair. I should break into his house at night and watch his hair as he sleeps. Then tell the guy I watch him sleep.
Now 'if I could I would dream of you.' thats kinda sweet. But that does not detract from the creepiness of Edward.
If Jacob is SO dangerous then why doesn't Edward kill him? Jacob is young, but hell he has far more control because he has his 'friends' with him. Unlike the first guy who had nothing and accidentally attacked his girl friend because he was angry and confused at what was happening to him. I have a character (a drow) that doesn't know what a werewolf is, and she is one. She can't control herself so every full moon she leaves and comes back the next day. So not to hurt anyone she loves. (She kills orcs!) Of course she tries to keep it a secret but it gets out and soon some people who've had the same problem tell her how to control the urges to transform and kill. Jacob is actually FAR more controlled than any were-wolf I've ever read about. Or shape-shifter. Whatever. Edward FORCES bella under HIS control. Which makes him abusive. You don't have to hurt someone to be an abusive man...oh wait. He raped bella. (Maybe not true rape. But rape is rape.) She passed out right? And he just continued on with her body as he saw fit. That is rape. Even if she wanted it.
Besides Edward would shoot out tiny icicle missile sperm. Hurting him and Bella. Most likely doing enough damage to her uterus that she could never have a child. (and her child is a vampire? Please. HALF of Bella's genetic codes should be in her and make that vile monster half human.) Besides. If the child WAS a vampire in her WOMB Bella would have to get constant blood transfusions because the vampire child would be feeding off her blood CONSTANTLY. We women know how 'fast' a child grows. Especially once it has 'its' heart. So Bella would slowly waste away as her child fed from her body. Killing both her and child. (Sense vampire drink SO much blood in one sitting.)

(Your typing is atrocious.)

I agree with Moon-Shade. Her points are spot on. And Jesus, please learn to use commas and periods.
The Twilight Saga is basically a fanfic, written by a pmsing woman with a thesaurus and far too much time on her hands. (edit: No offense to pmsing women.)

This is amazing, and wonderfully analyzed. People just fall for Edward because of his "dark sexiness". Yeah me: Thats not excuse for being an a*****e and ******** with Bella.. But Bella is kind of a weak character sometimes. Im not fond of the story at all. The plot is dumb there is no real message. I like other books much better that have way better writing and concept of people.

Yeah, the "concept of people" failure is one of my bigger problems with the books - I hate how it portrays every single human character as weak-willed, conformist, "shallow", incompetent, or utterly passive (Angela, who is otherwise decent, but characterless). I would expect that a book that has a mindreader as a major character would have to flesh out the actual thoughts he's reading, but no, making sweeping generalizations about the high school population is just fine. (If Edward's just underestimating people, fine, but to establish an unreliable narrator, you need to show the audience that the narrator is unreliable.)

The thread never dies - it merely slumbers. ninja

This has to be the most well-written and thought out argument against Edward Cullen that I've ever read. Seriously, someone should give you some type of reward or something. 3nodding

I myself harbor a guilty fascination with the Twilight series, and I'm torn between hating and liking it. (Sometimes I think I only read it because I'm half obsessed with correcting everything, haha.) But I most definitely know better than to think Edward is any sort of a saint as Bella portrays him as. I mean, the movie made his actions even more creepy, in my opinion -- more real may be a better term, if anyone even gets what I'm saying, heh. sweatdrop I'm surprised people still like him after watching it.

Thanks to all of you I can now convince my sister that Edward is not the perfect man and make her see what he really is: a creepy obssessive stalker.

90 people get swine flu and everybody wants to wear a mask. A million people have aids and nobody wants to wear a condom.
