Welcome to Gaia! ::

Imagine you've been in a car accident. Your body has been mangled and the doctors are all telling you that you're more or less doomed to a life of paralysis if you survive at all.

But you're not listening to those doctors... You find yourself fluttering out of reality... Everything grows quiet and before you know it, everything is black.

You open your eyes again and look around you. Your in a white room and there are no windows. You feel just a bit dizzy and you find it very hard to talk. Your neck begins to itch so you reach up to scratch it, only to find that your hand is not your hand... It's a different hand. The skin color is all different, and you don't remember your finger nails ever looking like that before... That birthmark sure as hell was never there before....

What the hell is this?!

A doctor walks into the room and asks you if you feel alright. You can only slightly nod in response... You want to ask him what is going on...

But fortunately he takes the liberty of answering your question before you agonize over how to ask it for too much longer.

"Well, we saw the condition your body was in. There was no way we could restore it or even save you... So we decided to take a bit of an extreme chance... We have severed your head and reattatched it to a new body."

Holy s**t.

Nevermind where this other body came from... how the HELL did they manage to do that?!!?!!

The fact of the matter is that this has already been done with experimental animals such as dogs and monkies. Yes, there was a succesful head transplant between two monkies, done by a man named Robert White who began research on head transplants in the 1960's.... or more specifically "iscolated brain preparations" and in one of his earlier experiments, before the actual monkey head transplant, he actually was successful in keeping a monkey's brain alive and animated just by providing and injecting the blood and oxygen needed to keep the brain alive.

The monkies that went under White's knife only lived for a few days due to blood complications and other complications as well...

But it's amazing what you can do with science...

So let's provide a descussion if no one could find one by now...

Would you ever subject yourself for a head transplant? If it was the only way to save your own life perhaps?

If you woke up as this person described above did, what would your reactions be? (that's saying that the opperation was succesful and all that good stuff) xd Angry? Afraid? "Whoa... that's some cool shiznit. o_O;"

What's your take on all of this? xd
True... i dont see how they could re-attach the spinalcord.... it IS one cell after all...
...I wonder if I could somehow live forever that way o.O;
I don't know if I like this too much... It's like Frankenstein! gonk
Do you want to be a Frankenstein? I sure wouldn't...

A body that isn't mine... I would rather just die.
ACK! That'd be scary yet cool... gonk My opinion is undecided...for now.
