I am appalled and disappointed in the Gaia community for how disrespectful and unappreciative people are being towards the KONY 2012 movement.
This is a serious issue within our planet and everyone should care. It has been going on for 26 years and finally someone has chosen to shine a light on it. That is something to be honored, not ridiculed. Sure, it may be something that can be shrugged off like everything else that happens in "fads" online. However, it can also be something that shines on brighter for as long as it takes to capture Kony, if we choose to let it. The world community has the power to keep things on the radar of everyone if they choose. It all depends on every individual continuing to support and promote the issue at hand.
The war in Uganda is something that needs to be ended.
It does not matter if you are not affected by it directly.
Everyone should feel compassion to any person who is in need of aid.
This is not something that should be ignored.
This is not something that should be joked about.
These are people that need the world's help.
These are people that need your help.
These are people just like you who are in danger.
Be a real human being and support those who have made the choice to evoke positive change.
And if you cannot support them, keep your mouth shut. Negativity doesn't help anyone.
