Sigh...I havent seen any friendliness yet. And yes your right thats the dictionary term of a tyrant but theres the form used on people who dont know when to leave people alone and keeping forcing what they think is right on somebody who feels they are being wronged aka your a talent

I don't think your new slang works any better than your old slang. I believe it needs to be true to fit such a situation.

That's quite an unfriendly think to say to someone who's only points were to agree with rules already set years ago, as well as to one who invited you to partake in activities on this forum. Do you wish me to cease telling you that you would get a warm welcome if you posted with relevance?

Enough with the "who is insulting who" discussion.

@Dark Emerald: I ask you to please stop assuming this is an attack on you personally. You probably heard the saying "If you assume, you'll make an a** out of you and me". Please don't continue this if you don't want to make yourself look like you're being an a** when I'm sure you're not trying to be. You're ignoring helpful posts that are leading you to a place where you can get more traffic on what you want; collaborated works. We are not here to kick you out or give you a bad welcome. We're trying to be helpful and send you to a sub-forum where you can collaborate with more writers. I posted some links in my last post if you want to use them. I'm trying to be helpful and explain to you why some post aren't attacks.

@Milo: I don't take offense to what you say dear. But being helpful is something we do, particularly when the OP looks like it would do better in a sub-forum that will get her more traffic. I say dear to everyone, so don't mind me. wink I just wish that she didn't take this as an attack when there have been post that were helpful and polite. This would work better in collaboration work sub-forum so that way more people can come in and discuss ideas.

Then you have said I see you have a wonderful idea but it could be better used somewhere else not accuse me of spam and automatically being hateful. Yall could have come up with much nicer ways to say go here but you refuse to and you keep attacking me. I mean really you did sit there and contradict yourself twice once by saying this is a place for writers too meet others and then saying that its for solitary writers I'm just trying to make friends and all but two have you have done nothing but make me feel like I'm unwelcome here. I just wanted to come find people. Heres advice next time be more nicer to the "newbies" when theyre trying to figure something out. there are kinder ways to give suggestions

The reason why you're posts might be considered spam is because there is no one discussing about collaborate writing. All I see is a pointless argument going on when you can be talking about works and ideas. Seems a bit silly to want to do collaborate writing, yet you're more concern about the thread being consider spam and people being "hateful". I'm not trying to make you feel unwelcome; I just didn't appreciate you thinking everyone was out to get you. You are welcomed here, but sometimes post can come off that people have attitudes when they don't.

The saying I used was to show that you were taking the words that we were using, and making assumptions about it was an attack.

Let me ask you something, if I may, about you thinking I'm hateful. How can I be hateful when I'm trying to explain that giving helpful advice isn't rude and ignoring posts with helpful advice is being a bit rude? I don't know you personally, so technically I cannot hate you. I just wish that you wouldn't take the words we use in the posts as if they are insults; I'm not trying to attack you, and I don't understand how you're taking my words as an attack. If you think the big font was me trying to shout and show I'm angry, you'd be incorrect. I did it to catch your eye so you might see that your post are making you look like something I'm sure you're not.

I'm sure you're you don't mean to word your post to look like you're just nipping back at some that are responding you. Although you gave me advice on being nicer, which I'll thank you for, but it's not necessary. I'm always nice no matter how much the other party seemingly becomes agitated. I say seemingly because I won't say I know they are until they, themselves, state that they are. So, let's all just take a deep breath and settle down for a bit.

How about we start from scratch and start over? You have, from what I've read, two people who wish to collaborate with you. So why not start discussing collaboration ideas, bounce around what genres you all dabble in, and get to work? Then there won't be a reason for anyone to consider this spam, because it's on topic of the opening post, which is collaborating with other writers.

And I have messaged both of them I dont just bounce around ideas with complete strangers looking over what I've done I build trust ecause I have had my work stolen from me before and I'm not doing it again so when I have a full group then we will go to a private guild learn more about each other to trust and as we learn more we will discuss what we feel comfortable discussing with others

People, if this squabbling keeps going I'll have no choice but to write a comedic short story about this whole fiasco.

First off i didnt know it was a slow thread and second brainstorming is a process of writing...aka its about writing if your not interested ignore ok. It's that simple and im not starting any group like thing till i know i have a group of people to do it. So please thanks for the advice but my topic is for writers so it does belong under a writing forum and leave me be please unless you would like to join my cause.

What she means is, the Writer's forum is more about the technical aspects of writing. Like if you want to discuss character archetypes, ask for writing tips, discussing creative processes. People don't really come here to "brainstorm" or find other people to write with, they come to discuss writing itself.

sweetie you just listed everything brainstorming and finding a group is about. Really think this through this is a place that discusses all of these things. Look its freedom of speech and i posted in the appropriate place. Just cause i used different words than you have doesn't mean im not here doing what i should. I'm not looking to talk with people who are here to try and boot me off because like the writer i am i use a different word choice than others. I want to talk to people who are friendly and welcoming that can talk to me about creative processes and characters. Pleas if your going to argue with somebody over a word choice maybe you should find out what exactly they mean. And its nice to know a fellow writer looking for others is unwelcome. How nice of a way to write with others. All you have to do is IGNORE a post you dont like. Thank you

exactly.I think that brainstorming ideas is a great idea. I think that it belongs here also.
...I only clicked on this thread because I knew I'd find an interesting argument to read....I'm a bad person.

I dont just bounce around ideas with complete strangers looking over what I've done

So, peeps hiding out behind pixels on a screen aren't complete strangers? That's novel.
I mean, for all we know, Stephanie Meyer might be lurking behind one of these avatars, waiting for the next angst-filled teen stalker novel to pop up.

Bottom line - if trust is an issue for you, don't brainstorm and don't do it online. You can't trust us.

Also, proper grammar could probably help your cause in abetting the huge amount of flack you're getting on here.

And one more thing - if this is how you react to people telling you to refer to the rules, how will you react to those sweet few whom you "trust" when they say they don't like your idea? When they think you're wrong, that you need to refer to this or that rule of grammar, stylistic writing or history? Will you accuse them of being mean or tyrannical?
of course, I highly doubt they'll say anything other than "omg ur ritin is so gud ur a godness" or sommat like that.

Don't mind me. I'm just going to enjoy the show while I bitterly reminisce about how often I used to do this exact same thing before I, y'know, grew up.

ahh see that's the difference. #1 i can handle critquing I prefer it its just in my nature to when I feel I'm being wronged outside my stories then I will argue till I'm blue in the face. Another I do not talk the way I write I know I should make it a habit to but I just dont and another you can brainstorm with some online after a time being you may not know who they are or what they look like but you can gather things about them just by the way they write like you for instance believe writers should be strict about the way they write I on the otherhand will only use correct grammar punctuation and capitalization when I'm writing to me a few words said to another is just that a few words but a story now that better be almost perfect you can never edit or critque enough till you yourself are happy with your work smile

You have yet to explain why you've been wronged. Especially when you con't type properly in a writing forum.
Do you understand what my intent behind the words I'm typing then I'm not writing incorrectly. I was wronged when I came here looking for fellow writers to meet and talk about stories and I was accused of spamming and right away I was told it didn't belong here in this forum. Then later on somebody contradicts what was originally said and still says it doesn't belong here. I even admitted to a mistake I made from the beginning and everyone started piling in on me about what I was doing wrong so instead of trying to make peace which was my original intent I figured I would argue my case which of course still continued this and even after I was trying to cool off from my outrage. Now I'm calm I've had time to breathe and let it go and even now, when I'm talking to others now who actually see what my intent was, you still continue. I feel that you're continuing this just for the gold and the show. Criticize me all you want I was successful in my search and I will continue to do so even if you feel like you should continue attacking everything I do or say. Now if you don't mind I'd like to end this wasteful bickering and move on with my life.

That's a run on sentence. It's very kind of you to start using captial I's, but you still need to practice. You need practice reading as well as nothing the others have said have wronged you. You need to take time to read both posts and rules, things which you have been told to do for pages.

Or is your insistence merely lacking the same quality as your accusation of my being a tyrant--where you used a completely different definition of 'wronged' that does not fit convention?
