Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hey all of ya gaian writers. I'm looking for a group of writers who want to brainstorm over story ideas and have some fellow writers help each other through each of the tough challenges being a writer presents. Anybody is welcome as long as they aren't easy to offend. Hope to meet some amazing people here biggrin
Look, please don't bump like this. It's a slow forum, sometimes you'll have to wait a few hours or even a day for people to get back to you. Additionally, what you are suggesting might work better as a guild rather than a thread.

The topic is a little nebulous for this forum, which is supposed to be for the discussion of writing, not a brainstorming centre and hangout.

If you can think of a more concrete direction for the thread, by all means edit your OP; with any luck you will get more traffic for your thread.
First off i didnt know it was a slow thread and second brainstorming is a process of writing...aka its about writing if your not interested ignore ok. It's that simple and im not starting any group like thing till i know i have a group of people to do it. So please thanks for the advice but my topic is for writers so it does belong under a writing forum and leave me be please unless you would like to join my cause.

What she means is, the Writer's forum is more about the technical aspects of writing. Like if you want to discuss character archetypes, ask for writing tips, discussing creative processes. People don't really come here to "brainstorm" or find other people to write with, they come to discuss writing itself.

sweetie you just listed everything brainstorming and finding a group is about. Really think this through this is a place that discusses all of these things. Look its freedom of speech and i posted in the appropriate place. Just cause i used different words than you have doesn't mean im not here doing what i should. I'm not looking to talk with people who are here to try and boot me off because like the writer i am i use a different word choice than others. I want to talk to people who are friendly and welcoming that can talk to me about creative processes and characters. Pleas if your going to argue with somebody over a word choice maybe you should find out what exactly they mean. And its nice to know a fellow writer looking for others is unwelcome. How nice of a way to write with others. All you have to do is IGNORE a post you dont like. Thank you

In all honesty though, you aren't going to find many writers willing to brainstorm with you here.

There is a sub-forum for collaborative writings, perhaps you would be better off there. The main WF is not really a brainstorming hub. Most of the writers here are solitary types, who work on their stories by themselves. There are stickies for those who need ideas, and, as I've said, guilds and sub-forums for the more chatty types. Unless there is a specific piece of advice you need - in which case, ask already - the only replies you are likely to get will become increasingly snarky.
I have written anything in a long time and I've only recently taken it back up again (my skills are a little rusty), but I'd like to help you. heart

If you want to brainstorm, don't be condescending. Don't waste our time, don't insult us, don't call use names, and do read the rules. After that, just tell us what you have and we will do our best to help you brainstorm.

Try the stickies about brainstorming, which is where this kind of discussion usually goes. The think tank and the writer's block ones.

I have to say something about us trying to boot you out of the WF, hun. We aren't trying to boot you out, you're misunderstanding what is typed in some of these posts. Those here were trying to lead you into a sub-forum that would get you more traffic such as the collaborated writings sub-forum as marshmallow suggested.

Leading you to the correct sub-forum isn't rude; it's helping you get more traffic and achieve what you wanted. A group of writers brainstorming and working together. Now don't take everything written in these posts as an insult, dear. We're all nice until someone starts to think otherwise, insinuate that we aren't being polite when we are, thusly bringing forth arguments about that can become pointless if one party thinks the other is insulting them.

We have stickies such as the Think tank and Idea box and Writer's block thread stickies to help you. But I think that marshmallow's suggestion on the collaboration writings sub-forum is the most helpful since it will have what you wanted.

Have a pleasant day/eve/morning.
Man... so I feel somewhat late to the conversation. Anywho! First and foremost I must mention that I disagree with bumping. Mainly because it's not necessary. If a topic is interesting enough it will get a decent amount of posts and stay healthy. This is just how most, if not all forums are. ^_^

But yeah. I myself am actually a very prominent writer. Over the many years I have grown in my capabilities I've written many things and come up with thousands of possible ideas... most of which I have yet to write out or just didn't feel up to writing out. I'd be glad to brain storm and share my ideas with anyone who'd like them... however, I must also agree with the certain folks here who say this topic is better off done in private messaging or guilds, etc. It just makes a little more sense. Then again, at the same time, they could have suggested the idea a little more politely. No offense to anyone here... ^_^;
