Why the heck would I buy the branded one if I can buy it cheaper or even better something with a bit more style!
I'm not really into designer labels
i see girls over here like 13 that carry Christian Ddior Handbags to school

weather its geuine is another case

to answer your question:
I thin the reason some brands make you pay that price, yes it about the label, but it's also about quality. I some shops they stock really cheap clothes but they tend to get ruined after one wash or has holes after a week buying it. however if you're willing to pay or they can last fo quite a long time.
but i say if you're rich then why not?
utsince im not rich I would no way in hell pay like £90 (which does happen) for a T-shirt.
I think that's silly. I'm particular and I like soft good quality fabric but some cheaper brands have that kind of fabric as well! You just have to know how to shop.

I will say that there are some designers that do amazing things with fabric. Carolina Herrera/Marchesa/etc. can make their designs a work of art. In that case I would be willing to pay quite a lot.
not for that brand but for that particular cut style color and considering its waterproof hells yeah i would totally buy it

I thrive on thrift store finds...so it really all depends what I can dig out of a garbage can. <3
Depends on what I'm looking for, and what brand.

The only time I ever go "brand-whore" is in regards to Lolita clothing, and even then I have a set of rules I always follow:

1. It has to be versatile; that is, able to be worn in several ways. This means a jumperskirt instead of a dress, or something in a neutral color.
2. It needs to be something in a print or style that I could not make myself. Generic florals or solid fabrics are out, but I'll spend money on something with embroidery I couldn't recreate or a cotton print specific to the brand.
3. It can't be more than $300.
4. It has to be a brand that I trust, and if it's my first time buying, I do massive amounts of research and asking around before committing to anything.
if it's a quality piece of clothing that will last a long time, i think it's better to pay a little more money for it than something boring that will fall apart within a week.
No.
D:
too expensive for me x__X;
I usually buy clothing for $50 and under. xD
i usually don't pay a lot for my clothes..
the maximum i'll spend is like.. $180 for jeans, $60 for dresses and those kind of sweaters.

Necro this thread.
I work at lululemon now. I'll be trying out more of the products and fabrics. Style is considered, but the clothing is mainly designed around function. The flat seams and luon are pretty awesome, alone. Expensive, yes. I have no idea what production cost is, but regardless of what even the company itself says, they need/want to make money.
I would rather go to LL Bean if I had a need to get one. :/

I doen't pay for a brand, I pay for the clothing, so I would get it at walmart. The same reason why I'm not going to Abercrombie and paying 50 dollars for a playing tee shirt with Abercrombie stitched across it!!
Brand aside though, would you like a flattering 4-way stretch material that's uber soft and wicks away sweat as well as dispersing the heat evenly on your body while maintaining breathability? Or a cotton blend from Walmart?
