i went to the book store today and saw a rather interesting steampunk book and wanted to know if anyone else has heard about and or read it.
its called 'Leviathan' by Westerfeld.

such a pretty cover
i must say it looked really interesting but im not a big reader and would like to know more about it before i get it.
edit:
so i just saw this do you oil your war machine or feed them?
and i must say....i will be getting this book.

I won an advanced copy of Levianthan before it was published. It was a fairly quick read and easy, and definately the beginning of another series by Westerfeld. Not too bad IMO, but more for the 12-17 crowd, so a good read to spark interest in that age group.
It takes a bit of a spin on WWII, an assassination of a royal, and a girl masquerading as a boy so that she may fly and fight on the 'living airship-dirigibles' that are actually a mixture of creatures. Darwinism vs industrialism in some ways..
