For anyone who might be able to make it, Oxford University's Museum of the History of Science is holding a Steampunk exhibition, from Oct. 13 - Feb. 21. Here's a link to The Museum of the History of Science and here's one to Art Donovan's blog. Art Donovan seems to be the curator for the exhibition. There would also appear to be a very limited number of exhibition posters available for purchase, so if you want one, snag it quick.

I'm actually an active member in the culture, although I rarely wear anything out in public. I do have the staple pair of goggles, but unfortunately, my cat got a hold of them and now, they are thrashed. It saddens me.

i went to the book store today and saw a rather interesting steampunk book and wanted to know if anyone else has heard about and or read it.
its called 'Leviathan' by Westerfeld.

I'd recommend finding a normal but Victorianesque jacket and embellishing it yourself. Otherwise you're looking at something pretty expensive.

Alright, that makes sense. Think I could get my supplies off of somewhere like Amazon or maybe just a normal craft store? I'm clueless with this stuff. I've never made anything like this. sweatdrop

Other than that, you'd just need to visit thrift stores and look for fabrics, costume jewelry, etc that you could add to your jacket.
