I will make that coat for myself, someday. Or something similar, anyway. x.x If she were selling it by itself, I would so scrape up the money to buy.

I second that. I really just want the coat by itself. I wish I could make something like that.
I'm willing to learn. Or find someone to make it.

I am as well. At the moment I'm trying to figure out a way to afford a sewing machine and, once acquired, find some way to learn to properly use it [it seems like the kind of thing that requires some instruction]. Maybe my grandmother or something...
That guitar is the coolest thing I've seen all week. *.*

Check the thrift shops for sewing machines. I often see them in there, some are new, some older. Usually under $10. Make sure they work before you buy though. Finding parts for older machines can be tricky.

As for using them, once you get the hang of threading the machine, it's not hard at all.

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but Brass Goggles has a really great steampunk forum, as well as links to other steampunk websites.

I have a Singer aswell. Works nicely on denim but I've yet to try it on leather of any kind. You'd need a special needle for that, no?
Thanks guys! heart
Kaiya, I remember you mentioned before that sometimes you incorporate aspects of cyberpunk into your steamy clothes for a sort of dystopian steampunk feel. That suddenly sounds really appealing to me. Do you have any cyberpunk pictures or resources that you could post for inspiration, if it isn't too much trouble?
You guys have heard of this place, right?

I can't go, but if anyone's in LA, might want to get in your best gear and go.

XD A few. Cyber stuff [websites, at least] is often easier to find than Steampunk stuff because it's been around longer and has a much wider audience [?] because it can also be clubwear, rave gear, works well with a lot of jfashion like decora and visual kei, etc. and baby-bat fashion. blah blah blah blah... Wow, that place looks amazing! I simply hate LA, but when I turn 21 and if I find myself in that area, I shall certainly go!

As far as inspiration goes, I guess I could post a couple pieces I'm particularly coveting:

I'll add to it later
I love those wings, they're kind of perfect.

I really like the darker colored cyberpunk pieces, as opposed to the raver-esque stuff. Which is convenient, I suppose, because it goes fairly well with Steampunk. I recognize the first jacket though, that's from Cute Salad, isn't it? I love Vivcore.

Anyway, thank you for the pictures and links, I appreciate it.
