Quick question, I'm thinking of putting my lolita on for Anime North. I just wanted to know if stockings and open toe sandals are an a-ok.

The sandals in question are white strapped and have a white fabric rose on the toes.They're wedges.

Are you part of the Lolita group for toronto? It is so_lolita on lj.
I would think you have to show us a picture, because any shoe is okay theoretically, but it depends on the outfit. I thin k it would be fine for a causal look, but anything too elegant wouldnt match. Or like something that is wa lolita, since the traditoinal shoes are sandal li,e it would work. And I woudl wonder if stockings and open toe anything works well.

I'm not part of a group, no, I never dress in "true" lolita, except at conventions, and online. I'm working on it, I like country and classic best, but my dress is sweet lolita.

I'll try to find an example online, the shoes are at home, and I'm at college right now.

Well, I suggest joining. We are planning an informal meet during AN. Informal since AN sucks at planning real meets. And it isnt something you can just lurk since we have had some creepy peopel finding us so it is members only.

We do not mind people who are not 'true' lolitas as long as you are willing to have funa nd be nice.

Thank you for the link, I joined up! I'm hoping to at least pop in, but I do have a friend with me, so I'll have to make sure she's ok with me meeting with other lolitas. We're going to AN together, so I have to make sure she's cool with a detour! I'm sure she will be, though, she's awesome like that!

@ Splenda - That's not right... I wonder if someone from Milanoo flagged it as spam?
I would never order from Milanoo again. Frickin' chest sizes. >:C

On another note, I am very happy about the Lolita Pets Community.
-puts bow on her cat-

I wouldn't be surprised if someone affiliated with Milanoo flagged me. I remember similar questions about Milanoo in which my answer got voted down - thank goodness I still got best answer xD

On the topic of yahoo answers: how is babby formed?

There's a picnic this weekend, and I'm not quite sure what I want to wear to it. I was thinking my polkadot Cornet dress, but ... I think it needs a drycleaning first. I pulled it out of the closet and it's all rumpled as hell and the lace is lookin' a bit limp.

I don't have time to get it drycleaned professonally, so ... going to see if we have any of those bags for the dryer left to do it that way...

Ha ha, most of my money goes on clothes, cosplays and conventions. I'm getting sick of my mum telling me to "grow up". She thinks that dressing up as your favourite characters is weird and she says that I'll be one of those weird 40 year olds who go to conventions and still dress up.

Can anyone help me, BTW? I usually get my hair tidied up every 6 weeks because I have a full-on blunt fringe, but I accidentally missed my appointment this time and I can't afford the £20 (about $30) this time round...except my fringe really needs trimming. I don't know whether I would be able to do it myself in case I ******** up and I can only have free fringe trims at my hairdressers if I have my hair cut there. Well, I missed my appointment and I can't afford a full on trim now, can I? So I don't suppose I can go there and get another trim and not get my hair cut again.

What do I do? >.<

@Nefetiti: You from the UK too? biggrin
And, I don't know if it's the same you are, but my local college does hairdressing courses, and haircuts/trims are usually free (or at least very inexpensive) if you allow a student to practice on you. If you have a college nearby that's the same, maybe you could pop in and see what they can do?

((What sort of cheese was that?))

                                            My mom's okay with me cosplaying,
                                            I just have to spend my own money Dx

                                            And about the hair, if there's absolutely no alternative,

                                            I cut my own hair so I don't know a lot about hairdressers...

I agree with Osaka, you should drop by a college and have the students cut your hair. I would just hope they wouldn't mess up... Mwahahahaa... >D

Ffff I need to get my split ends cut. -gets coupons online-
I got my hair cut once at a beauty school/academy thing.

Never again. It grew out to a flattering cut, with some snipping on my part, but...ohgod. It took the poor girl the better part of an hour and was pretty awful in the end. Very uneven from one side to the other. ._.;;

SUNDAY! Ordering from Baby. Finally getting the ribbon wrap ring, and the Gelato JSK in the red colorway. Also considering some black socks... depends on tomorrow's paycheck. Hrm.

I would love to see your closet, Kate.

You tell us about a new dress you're getting practically every week. XD
It's not...that impressive as lolita wardrobes go. XD;

I know girls who have whole rooms for closets. And ... I've bought two dresses since Christmas [the Putumayo dress and the Atelier Pierrot OP].

[edit]: Err. Three. I bought the Castle of Nightmare JSK. Forgot. ^^;

[edit again]: ********. FOUR. XD;;;
I did buy that Cornet JSK, too. s**t.

I'm starting to get into the lolita scene more and more now. It's reassuring to know there are some Lolitas decently nearby, so I can get tips and tricks, and even advice for the fashion.

Livejournal is now my friend! xd

Charlotte -
To help your hair grow you'll need to get it in good condition.
And every 6 to 8 weeks you should get a "micro" trim.
Which is about 2-3mm trimmed off of your ends.
It will remove the dry damaged ends and encourage faster growth.
I get about 1 cm cut off of my hair every 6 weeks and it's grown super fast.

^^

NO.
Please, do NOT trim your hair that fast. You are just wasting your time.

There is no real way to make it grow faster, besides making sure you are healthy. You can only do your best to prevent damage. So, when it is long, keep it up to protect damage. For split ends, DO NOT cut all the hair. Just look through, find the ends, and snip them.

If you really want more tips on growing long hair, go to the Long hair community and they have many topcs about what to do and how to wash youre hair properly..

This advice was for Charlotte personally.
Because her hair is so damaged she will need to get the ends trimmed more frequently.
I don't tell everyone to do that to their hair.
And because hairdressing is my profession and I have spoken to Charlotte about the condition of her hair this is a unique consultation.
Her hair is quite damaged and she does want to get it into a healthier condition this is exactly what she needs.
Thank you for your input though.
That particular method is not for everyone.
