I told my mom I was going to get into the fashion before I even started to purchase/sew items. I found this thread, asked a few questions, joined EGL, and showed my mom pics that were either from magazines or brand sites. That way, I avoided the "OMG, my daughter is turning into a slut! D:" thing.

My mom is okay with it since I am not dressing like a slut, but since I was already 'goth' when I dabbled in loli, the only thing that changed is that the price went up a bit for a dress that she had to spend..

If you are worried about the book, explain to the parents the difference. telling them that the name came from the book, but like how there are tattoos with stupid nonsensical Asian stuff on them by Americans, the Japanese have a tendency to do the same with the English language (and french sometimes). So while it shares the name, it doesnt share the meaning.

About this episode everyone's been discussing, if someone told me that what I wore was "fetish wear" and a "costume" I would have to slap someone silly. D:< My boyfriend really likes that I dress lolita, and or J-punk (Depending on what I wanna wear that day). He likes that I wear dresses and skirts, and overall just look more feminine. :3

My parents either don't care or don't know the book cause when I told them I was waiting for a lolita dress they're like Ohkay. ._.;

I REALLY want the Sugary Carnival JSK from Angelic pretty, but it's so expensive, everywhere I look.

I can't wait to get my own money to buy Angelic Pretty and BTSSB. XD; Until then, I'll just make do with birthday and Christmas money. > 3<

Pretty much all I've said is that it's modest.

And that petticoats are involved.

Since I like to do things like wear normal clothes with a cheapo tiara as a matter of course, I don't think they'll notice. >w<

Also, I will be over the moon too when I can buy a brand! Except that I'm limited to ONLY the stretchy JSK's BBTSSB and Angelic Pretty have here and there.

oh i'm so happy. I finally figured out a way to tame my hair. so it will look so pretty with my dress when I get it. well I already knew but my hair has a natural curl. and with what i've been doing i've been getting pretty ringlet curls.

There are quite a few with the same feelings as you. I'm just over the max bust measurements for most JSKs and OPs, myself. Shirring is my buddy. :'D

sorry.....I actually hate my hair most of the time. i've been putting conditner in it every day and combing it in the shower to get out tangles. I have to get it relaxed again soon. though when I do it won't really curl with a curling iron. and i'l have to wait a couple of weeks to get it wet so my natural yet restrained curls can kick in.

I hate my hair, too. Naturally, one side curls and the other won't. :/

lol I hate when my hair finally curls nicely and then.....there is always that one strand or chunk that didn't curl at all. i'm like.....why...

yeah I was happy that the place we did them at let us. it was only to a certain size though.

I get that when straightening my hair. I'll get nearly all of it, but I'll get to work and see the back of my head in the bathroom mirrors facing each other. I had missed a big chunk and it's curling like crazy. D:

I should have asked the place that took mine. If they did pets, I could have taken my dog. She was only three pounds.

I'm bad at it. I have enough hair for two people and I have such a hard time getting it all. D: I used to have my mom help me, but she stopped not long ago. Said I should learn to do it myself. It's not going well. .___.

lol.......I feel your pain. most of thew time my hair looks short...but it's not it goes a quarter or so down my back. it just curls up so much.
