Common violations to avoid:
- Trolling is Prohibited. While mature and respectful discussions on fashion and beauty are allowed, hateful remarks based on age, sex, race, size, or fashion subculture will not be tolerated. Everyone has personal fashion biases, but these should not form the basis for personal attacks or hateful comments. Do not create a thread or post a comment for the sole purpose of deliberately slandering or flame-baiting a particular fashion culture or group of people.
Excessive Bumping. Please do not bump your thread unless it has fallen off the first page, since this is considered spam. If you wish to spam, please do so in the Chatterbox Forum . Please note that spamming outside of the Chatterbox may lead to warnings or the banning of your account.
Sexually explicit content. Posting, requesting, distributing, or offering sexually explicit material is not permitted anywhere on Gaia. Sexually explicit content includes explicit photographs, text, artwork, video, or cybersex conversations.
Posting in misplaced or TOS violating threads simply to inform the user is discouraged. Instead, please report the thread using the
button.Terms of Service violations may result in a warning or a ban on your account.

Commonly Misplaced Threads
- Threads about Gaia avatar fashions belong in the Avatar Talk Forum.
"Rate me", "Hot or Not", "Could I be a model?" and similar appearance validation threads are not appropriate for Fashion and Style. Please post them in the Chatterbox Forum.
Discussions on fashion-related shows, such as Project Runway and ANTM, belong in the Entertainment Discussion Forum.
Threads about creating clothing and accessories are better suited to the Textiles and Crafts Forum.
Threads concerning cosplay belong in the Cosplay and Conventions Forum. Please note that Lolita fashion is only considered cosplay when basing outfits on particular characters or people.
Threads concerning personal health issues, such as weight and how to lose it, belong in the Life Issues Forum. Please note that threads that discuss appearance issues such as acne, etc. are permitted.
Hangout Threads(HOTs) do not belong in the Fashion & Style forum. While we understand that large threads sometimes get derailed and off-topic chatter occurs, please keep this to a minimum. Threads containing excessive amounts of off-topic chatter may be moved to the Chatterbox or Friends Chat forum.
Low Content Threads. Threads lacking sufficient content in the first post will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to, yes/no questions, picture-post threads, simply copy&pasting an article and posts solely compromised of links.
Style counseling and similar threads offering advice are not necessary. It's great that you're trying to help, but when people would like advice about their appearance, they can make a thread to address their individual needs. Any threads offering advice will be moved to the Chatterbox.
Topics such as: which style..., and posting pictures of your latest fashion purchase, are considered repeat topics . These threads are better suited for discussion within the appropriate Sticky in the forum. Any topic that is a repeat will be moved to the Chatterbox.

Report Hacking, Scamming or Abuse & Harassment?
The Hacking, Scamming and Abuse or Harassment report forms can be found at the bottom of the forum index. When submitting a report, ensure that you fill out all fields and include as much relevant information as possible.
- Report A Hacking
Use this form to report a Hacking. Hacking, on Gaia Online, refers to the unauthorized access of an account by someone other than the account owner. In most typical hacking cases, an unauthorized person enters an account which does not belong to him or her and takes items or gold from the account, often changing the account information so that the original owner can no longer access his or her account.
Report A Scamming
Use this form to report a Scamming. Scamming is when another member of Gaia takes your gold or items, or tries to take your gold or items, by making false promises of giving you rare items, get-rich-quick schemes, or by any other deceptive means. Scamming generally involves a situation in which two members of Gaia make an arrangement to trade gold, items, or a Gaia approved service (e.g. avatar art commission) with each other and then one of the parties involved in the arrangement fails to live up to his or her promise of an exchange.
Report Abuse or Harassment
Use this form to report ongoing Abuse or Harassment. If you are reporting harassment or abuse that is occurring directly in a thread, please use the "Report This Post" button instead.
