I'd say just go to a salon of you really want ombre!
The results might not turn out as well as you planned, trust me D'x
Or you can always just get blond streaks in your hair, highlights maybe. Highlights are easier to do because you just take little sections of your hair and bleach them.
..and yeah box dyes suck but they're good for people on a budget! yum_puddi

omg everytime i post here it's about hair woopss (✿◠‿◠)

ok so i'ma start it off like this
i had red hair for a couple months !
and before that i had this light brown/blonde/ginger color for a pretty long time too. (that i hated which is why i went red).
then i put a blue-black box dye on top of that faded red/orange mess (which was dumb lol box dyes are the worst) a while ago.

for the summer i want to go lighter. and i mean around july/august.

but until then, i want to dip dye my hair.

i haven't touched it for a long time.
and i'm getting so bored with it.
what are some good tips for a good ombre?
for at home?
with someone helping?

(i'm just asking bc i do want to go to a salon but i may not afford it.)

You take a lightener(bleach) and you put it on the lower half/ends of your hair, but you will also need a color thats a few shades between the lightened hair and darker hair, apply that blending into the top. Be careful, bleach expands just so you know if you happen to want it on the top. And trust me, you don't want a burned scalp. Also, read the box very carefully with lightening, times are very important as they develop on your hair. My fav box bleach is Feria. After lightening, trim off the damaged ends.

Ombre only looks right if you dye your hair a few shades lighter than the actual color it is.
