I'm probably going to sound stupid asking this, but I really want to know: Does Hot Topic sell Gothic styled clothing? Because I really like Emo and Gothic styled clothing, and some of Hot Topic's clothing looks Gothic (i.e. Their skirts and dresses), and I heart Hot Topic's clothing. I'm asking an honest question here. Not trying to troll or anything. I don't even know how to troll. o.O

Don't worry, you're not trolling.
I do believe that some of Hot Topic's items can be considered 'Gothic', in some aspects. Of course, when most people think Hot Topic, they think MallGoth. Not quite sure, though. We don't have Hot Topic where I'm from. .___.

Thank goodness! Some people get all butthurt when someone says Hot Topic is Goth. sweatdrop
That's good though. Because I've seen some Scene and Emo styled clothes at Hot Topic too, so I'm thinking, "So...Hot Topic isn't Goth? What? I'm confuzzled..."
If only I had a job, or Hot Topic's clothes weren't so darn pricey, maybe I could get my clothes from there. crying
Where are you from if I may ask? And also, a Mall Goth is a poser, or someone who thinks they're Goth, but doesn't really have a clue about the Goth culture? I don't call myself Goth, I just like the clothes, and I've liked them since I was about 13 years old. Could that make me a Mall Goth as well? gonk

You're only a poser if you think your the gothest goth since goth came to goth town, dressed in your mallgothy clothes (that can be from anywhere) and listen non-goth bands.

Haha... xD
And, you wouldn't be considered a poser if you just liked the clothes. Wearing them, and considering yourself to be (as GSB said) the "gothest goth since goth came to goth town", then you may be considered a poser. But you're not, so no worries~!

Also, I'm from Canada. No Hot Topic stores here, from what I've seen. Although, we do have Gothical...

I want to go to Gothical just because the name makes me smile and giggle the same way the narrators on Scary...But True do.

Yeah, I just love them. The different styles are so cool (My favorite styles are Victorian and Cyber), and they just seem to match me. Unfortunately, my parents think I'll become some Satanist or Wiccan or whatever if I wear Gothic and Emo styled clothing, so I'm stuck wearing casual clothes, like Kohl's and JCPenny and stuff. crying

Oooh, Gothical sounds like a cool store! I wonder if America has any Gothical stores. whee

Yeah... The name is pretty giggle-making.
They have lots of crazy stuff there, from Skelanimal plushies to full-bodied fishnet suits with a hole at the crotch. O.x''

Yeah... odd. xD

Deathrock-gothic lolita owns my heart. I love the gorgeous lace and long elegant dresses, but throw on some ripped fishnets, cuffs, and a choker along with big teased out hair and defined fashion make up. I love it. I'm gathering as much items as possible to build up my closet. I've always had a love for the dark loli fashion but never had the materials to get my dress-wear just right. Hopefully I can in the near future :]

Question: Does Rockabilly count?
(In reality, I have no idea what I am. I just like Rockabilly/vintage gothic stuff. Not quite Victorian, because that's expensive, but retro.)
I just noticed that there are only a few "goth" styles shown in the posts so I was wondering.

Forgive me, I have but two faces.
One for the world,
One for god,
SAVE ME.

GSB posted the most popular Goth styles on the first page, but there are lots of them.
Rockabilly could count, and there's also a style called 'Gothabilly'. Very rare style of Goth, I might add. xD

"I hear Hell's bells calling me... it's time to boogie!"

I R "pretty", eh? O;

It's taken me almost 2 hours to find this thread BUT I HAVE!!!!!!!!11

Thanks for making it. I really want somewhere to talk to other goths about the fashion and potentially about the reactions we get because of the fashion.

I'm Risu -My Japanese nickname-, I'm 17 and I am (Brace yourself) goth/lolita/loli-goth/victorian/pin-up/cyber/normal. I can't decide which style of goth I like best so I just do all of them depending on my mood. Mostly, I am loli-goth or some slightly less colorful version of cybergoth -I just really like PVC-

So yeah.

I was at my city's summer exhibition the other day and I wore my black and white PVC corset with a black pleated Tripp skirt and black and white striped tights with my Demonia boots. It was really funny the number of different looks I got. Some guys would hit on me (Especially ride operators) and some would just stare. Good times.

Okay, I'm done.

I'm glad that someone made this thread...although the whole argument about Gothic Lolita was ridiculous. I love the whole gothic victorian look ^^

I'm building a house of murderous intention.

I'm a huge fan of the goth style, and dress in it as often as I can. I like 80s goth, but I feel like I'm copying my mother, and then I like Victorian goth, but my great grandmother was known to go to goth clubs in her 90s in her old Victorian mourning dresses from her youth. I often just do tranny goth, since that's just fun! I also really like the 1920s silent film look, Theda Bara etc. I love Gallery Serpentine though. Does any one have any suggestions other than Gypsy Moon for the 1920s goth look?

She who worships Hera.
So I hate to jump into the thread right after a string of newbie posts, but it's fallen as far as the fourth page, I thought it could do with some attention.

I'm Megs, I've been lurking here for a few weeks now, but I haven't posted until now.
