She laughed a wicked laugh and said...
Circumcision, I'm kinda on the fence about. We're not religious so we wouldn't do it for that reason. I honestly might just leave it up to our potential son. He can get it done any time he wants to, there is no set age for circumcision. Choices choices...
"Come here, let me clip your wings"
If not done for religious reasons, it's done for more of a Hygienic reason.
We had to learn about all this stuff in school (You know... the stuff about a p***s i never needed or wanted to know lol)
If a guy isn't circumsized, it created a lot more opportunity for bacteria and nastyness to get under the foreskin, and they have to go for "cleanings" quite often.
these "cleanings" consist of shoving a wire brush up there to get all the dirt/bacteria/whatever else hides up there out.
I'd rather have my child circumsized at birth, when they are so young they don't remember, than have them go through that on a monthly basis.
And they have alternative methods to surgery now to remove the foreskin.
.....
Why are we having a conversation about a foreskin? xd
Foreskin removal is a body modification practiced on infants...I think it's very on topic for this thread.
I personally consider any modification done without the consent of the person it's practiced on to be mutilation, unless it's done for a very good reason, like when I had my club foot fixed when I was 2 so that I could walk correctly. I don't consider foreskin removal to be one of those things in most circumstances.
What is this alternative method? How much does it cost? Would most insurers cover this method or would they consider it "nontraditional" or "experimental" and make the infant's family pay for it?
As far as hygiene...I've had experiences with clean people and people who need to bathe a lot more...and those who are cut and uncut. My current lover is uncut. I've never had problems with uncut guys and hygiene, provided they bathed/showered once every other day. All you have to do to clean it is pull the skin back and use some gentle cleanser.
I've never noticed a bad taste or smell coming from any uncut guy that had relatively regular bathing patterns, nor have I ever had a yeast or bacterial infection from sex with an uncut guy without a condom. Not even when I know he hadn't showered for 3-4 days. He knows how to wipe himself properly. He cleans his d**k a hell of a lot better than I clean my navel (the inside, not the piercing), and my navel is probably a haven for bacteria.
I honestly call bullshit on the "going in for regular cleanings" thing, and would like to see what studies were done on this and who did them. Nothing personal against you, but rather where the information is gathered.
