It's hard to say about what goes on in Japan when you haven't been yourself, but I try to keep myself updated through other foreign students who study there and.those who hang out around those types of social circles or catch up with those online.

Umm, I was wondering if there are any Lolita Hairstyles for very short hair, like boy hair cut. That isn't Kodona..

Do any of you know any?

You can do any style you wish to, there are some girls who do Mohawks in Lolita, if they feel like it. The important thing though is that you take care of your hair. If you don't, it definitely shows and it's never flattering.

There are a lot of girls who sport low cuts, but the most popular (by what I've seen with reactions from other lolitas), are things like the pixie style haircut, or like, if you were to do a very blunt, bob-like haircut (I forget what it's called.)

I would be more than happy to link you photos but I don't remember the usernames of the girls who rock those styles the best =A=

Well my hair looks like this:

Its grown since then but I figured I was just gonna wear it like that. Does it look like its not being taken care of?

I can't exactly tell, since your camera has flash and stuff like that.

I mean, as long as you're taking care of your hair well it's no problem. But if you like, you know, don't wash your hair until the point where your hair looks like it's slicked with gel or something, yeah that's a problem. But as long as you're taking care of it it's fine.

What you might want to do is instead of it just having it lie flat like that, try to look for suggestions of how to do your hair. Like you know, when it comes to curling it or using a mousse or something or style it, so it would look nice when you go out.

Also, back to the whole extreme- gyaru style discussion, someone had recently posted this interview on a gyaru forum that might be interesting to read. It pretty much backs up what I said about the whole "ganguro/manba was basically attention-whoring" thing. Once the ideas of old-school gyaru started getting attention from media, that's when all the crazy s**t started. Now however, the style's going back to normal.

There's also a tiny bit into the whole discrimination of even the normal styles, and "enjo kosai" (compensated dating).

Even though it was most recently posted, it seems that the ex-gal was interviewed around 2000-2001ish. It says nothing about the evolution of ganguro --& manba/yamanba and such, nor how the style is now.

A lot of it is the street fashion, prevalent in Harajuku, yes. But not all of it is.

I have a yukata but I don't wear it often. I like it, though~

My friends were thinking of having a yukata meet over the summer so those things won't just sit in our closets all the time.

Mine is offwhite with pink and purple florals. I want to get a black one too, so I can feel like I have enough xD

Afterwards I'll probably get something else strange, like a sari or some s**t xD
