J-fashion is troublesome. Spend an average of four hundred on an entire outfit, atleast half an hour lacing it properly if there are laces, fifteen minutes removing all of the laces, five minutes sorting them out for wash and two hours to get full dressed and made up to go before coming back to repeat the process. In some way, I suppose that is a confession of me being a J-fashion slave/victim. surprised . Typical thin line eyebrows too.
....that kinda depends on what style you're going for. If you like complicated styles that require time and care, then yes, it's sometimes gonna be "troublesome." Besides, it's not like all Japanese people dress in cosplay/vk/decora/whatever. :/
Exactly, and it's actually highly possible that there are more people in America or in Europe that actually dress VK than there are in Japan. It's actually not HUGELY popular over there. The same goes for all of the more extreme J-fashions.
I like most of the outfits I have seen. Where could you get them? question
just randomly passing through,
but N I C E thread ^_~
i adore J-fashions.

Where could you get them?

Depends. Do you want a specific brand? Or do you just want to imitate a style? For the latter, you don't need to buy Japanese brand, or any specific brand for that matter. Shop in the stores close to you, or online. There's always DIY.
I decided to make actually, it's more like have my mother make for me some kodona clothing type things to wear but I'm like really new to all of this. so like where could i find patterns and stuff, and also what are some good type of clothing materials to use?

((sorry for asking like total newb questions...))

Patterns for just about anything and fabric can be found at any local fabric store. Do you have a Jo-Ann's near you?
I'm not much of a seamstress, so I honestly don't know a whole lot about different fabrics... sweatdrop Maybe try asking about such things here?
Thanks!! Although i've never heard of a Jo-Ann's place.....I'm kind of scared to go into stores like that..so yeah I'll just ask my mom to get the stuff for me.....
You're scared to go into a fabric store....?
yeah....actually I am...mostly 'cause It seems a little...ugh I don't want to say that in case I offend someone...but it seems a little...wierd...for a guy to be in a place like that (or just wanting to make his own clothes in general), which is why I might have my mom do it for me. but anyway....I was wanting to make an costume to wear at this Anime Cafe my school is having, but I now realize that it's futil to think that i could make a good costume in 2 weeks, and it not suck....(that last sentance is kind of redundant....)
...you do know there are male fashion designers, right? Ones that sew and make clothes. For guys. XD You shouldn't care if people think you're "girly" or whatever for buying fabric (which is utterly stupid, but whatev). It's just that--fabric. No big deal.

Btw, if you think it's too late to make a costume, you still have two weeks to put together a decent outfit. Just puttin' that out there.
hide is my fashion icon and musical muse, ha ha.

If you go for something moderately simple, you can throw together a brilliant costume in two weeks time, beginner or not. Just pick up something simple and straight forward when you grab a pattern. A lot of companies are putting patterns out just for beginners these days, so I'm sure you could find something that you could do in the time you have.

    Indeed.

For kodona, I bet you could put at least something together just by going to a few thrift stores.
