I'm sure the multitude of tourists that journey to Japan do just fine and I doubt they all know Japanese.

And hey, you could always get the Point It Picture Dictionary.

I have no idea what the disctionary thing is. I've never even heard of it. gonk

You'd be surprised at how you hardly have to know any Japanese whatsoever. I went a whole week in Japan without having to say more than one word in the limited Japanese I knew. The hosts in the youth hostel spoke English, my host family spoke English, the kids at the high school knew English, the employees at Subway knew English, the employees in the hotel knew English, and all the other times words weren't needed (though there was an exception, lol). But keep in mind it was only enough to get the point across most of the time. Also, I must point out that I was in Tokyo and Hitachi, so location does play a role.

You should still carry around a little phrase book just in case. And if you get lost, just give a taxi driver the card with your hotel's (or wherever you're staying) name and address on it and he/she will drive you there, no questions asked.

Here it is. And there are other variations it seems.

It's basically a book with a bunch of little pictures of food & drink, places and things that you can just point to and show to someone instead of possibly botching the language and getting nowhere.
It might be silly, but yeah....
No one would travel anywhere outside their own country if you had to be fluent to get around once you were there.

Oh thanx!

But I doubt I'll be able to go there soon. I can't go on a vacation during school time because then I'd be waaaaay behind and I won't understand a thing and probably lower my grade down. And also because of the plane tickets. That's usually a big thing for my mom.

We could go in the summer, it will be boiling hot though. I can't stand heat gonk

Hi There Guys biggrin

I was wondering if I can get some help heart

I am going to a Dir En Grey Concert in a few weeks and I am a VK dresser BIG time if and when i get the chance.

I like Lolita but Kyo hates Lolita and thinks its stupid D:

So I am going for Elegant Gothic Aristocrat ....
Any advice on how to do it ???

Honestly, for a Dir en grey concert...I'd just go in jeans and t-shirt. Unless you plan on sitting in a seat during the concert, your outfit might get rather...ruffled. Plus, EGAs cover up quite a bit and it might be rather hot under all that clothing. But that's just me....

Check out the first page for reference pictures and the links to online places where you can find similar items to make up an EGA outfit.

I never did get the whole dressing up thing for a concert. And a rock/metal concert at that. :/

And who cares that Kyo hates lolita?

Lol, wear what you want to wear. Because you're the one wearing it anyway, why should other people care?

It's not like Kyo's going to go hunting for lolitas XDD Jk

Lol, I don't think it's as boring as clothes here!

You're so lucky! I wanna go to Japan, China, and Korea. I've already been to China, but still...they have aweosme stuff there!

I've been to Japan, Hong Kong and China. Japan pwned, except they don't really make clothes for uh...busty....girls. So I mostly bought pants. 3nodding

And I dunnoooo, Australia is very trend driven. If it's not mainstream style, you absolutely cannot find it anywhere.
Which really sucked when fluro was in....

I really want to go to Japan someday, but my mom says it's expensive.
I love the jeans they have there, it's just so...so...well designed, and again, the stuff where I live is plain.

Same! If it's not mainstream, it's located somewhere else. I get get there by boat but eh...that'd be $100. I seriously don't like the shops here.

It's pretty expensive, in terms of clothing. sweatdrop But it's so worth it. If you live on traditional Japanese food eating is cheap as anything, so that sort of makes up for it.

But yeah, I took AUD$1000 with me for shopping money and I spent it verrrry quickly.

I'm taking $3000 with me to Taiwan this time. gonk I've been a total skinflint for months.

click for my blog.
So many people are afraid of clowns. Did he pick his philanthropic hobby deliberately? Or was it purely chance that this man killed more than 30 people?
Lol I understand that. Sometimes you just can't help it, and you see tons of stuff that's soooo awesome and cool, you can't resist and you buy it.

That happened to my cousin and her friends. They had to run out of markets and stores with their eyes closed after all their money was spent. I'd probably do the same thing if I had a job and money.
