Nah, they're not gods. o_o They're just not shy to dress how they like. And people are more used to all that there, so it's good.

If people on the streets started dressing in J-Fashion, they'd get so many stares it'd be scary. D:

In Mexico, if you go outside your house in PJ's even, you'd get shot with stares. ;o; I'd hate that whenever I wanted to go to the market and get candy. I had to get all dressed up to buy something simple.

Well the majority of Japanese society is relatively shy when it comes to fashion. It's common to be looked down on when you wear the more impractical styles like lolita, cosplay, decora, etc. That's why when interviewed one of the popular questions is "Do your classmates/parents/friends/etc know you dress like this?" The most common answer being "no". Most of the photos are taken at fashion districts where people get dressed up just to go there. Very few wear these clothes on a daily basis because of how the public perceives it.
