I made a reservation this Friday for Lumiere, a restaurant run by Le Cordon Bleu chefs and students. (Hopefully I'll be there to celebrate my successful completion of my certification test tomorrow. *crosses fingers* ) I've got some nice clothes to wear, but I wanted to get a second opinion on them.

Is it all right for me to wear my not-flip-flop brown leather sandals with my outfit? They're the only nice pair of shoes I have besides my steel toe boots and those will get me mistaken for an employee.

Will it be all right for me to wear a nice short sleeve top, like a nice blouse, or should I go for long sleeve? I've got limited choices on this, too, and some of my nicest tops will also get me mistaken for an employee.

And I'd rather not wear a skirt since that means no pockets. A purse would mean bringing my big AC/DC tote. So would navy blue slacks be all right with the brown sandals? I've got a nice green and navy blue top that would work well with that.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Don't wear sandals, now that it's October, especially. No one's really going to notice your shoes, just make them closed toe if they're not pumps.

If all you have are navy pants, go for that. Don't bring a freaking TOTE bag, especially if it has AC/DC on it. You can go short sleeved or not, just make sure it's nice.

I'll have to polish my shoes, then. It'll be inspection time soon in class anyway, so I should get it done. I wonder if anyone would notice if I did wear my sandals in since I am in the south.

Yeah, I want to avoid bringing the tote for sure, which is why I mentioned wanting to avoid wearing a skirt. No pockets.
crying No sandals. And if youre really decided on the pants, make sure you wear a dressier top. Sleeves dont make something dressy, its the overall style of the shirt

The top I had in mind was a long sleeve, green and navy blue striped, long-sleeve, mock twist neck blouse. It's probably the nicest shirt I have that isn't one of my Le Cordon Bleu jackets.
Ahaha. As a student that used to work in one of those restaurants, you can wear whatever you want. Sure it'd be nice if you didn't come in wearing cut off shorts and a belly shirt, but these are students.

No need to dress up though. Not at all!

You don't need to dress up for a student restaurant.

You do, however, need to do some shopping and update your closet.

Believe me, I'd love to. But that would mean having money to spend. I'm a poor student, too. crying

Though I do have a cute top that should be coming in the mail soon. Or at least, I think green plaid with purple straps is cute...
