Permanent corset piercing. rofl
Yeah definitely don't do it before a gig/concert/anything that involves big tightly crowded places and lot's of activity, never mind all the dirt and bacteria that will be swimming around by your fresh piercings.

when I said special occasion, I meant wedding or uh graduation, coming of age event (but before getting extremely drunk, or after)

Really, I think you shoudlnt do it period. You havent seem to have thought this through at all. If you knew anything about this type of peircing, you would have known that it isnt really considred a permanent peircing. It isnt a choice here, it doesnt happen. It has to do with the type of peircing done and the areas and because it is a lot of them, and if oyu put the ribbon it it helps rejection..etc. EVEN if you tried to make it peramenty with bars or whatever, all the other stuff makes it unlikely ot stay.

Plus then you are thinking about going out to a concert? You are going to kill yourself (nt literally..). With such a tempermental piercing...the last thing you want to do is go to a concert where you are likely going to get bumped a lot. Even MORE so the night that you get them done.

Not everyone knows things right off the bat.
Now she does- if she listens, does that not mean she should do it?

Not really. It isnt a case of you shouldnt do it just because you dont know s**t. It is a case of, you need to rethink this whole idea before doing it.

Ahhh okay, that makes more sense. biggrin

Thanks for all the replies! I've decided I'm not going to attempt to get them done permanently, but I see no reason not to do it at some point and take a few pics, maybe go show them off at a concert or something the night I get them done. Thanks again everyone, for all the help! heart

A concert would be a very bad if not dangerous idea. They are very fragile and delicate, it would take no effort to have them ripped out.

Be careful! Corset piercings are only meant to be in for a few hours max. For pictures, or special events where you know no one is going to touch them. A concert is not a place for a delicate piercing, where someone could pull on the ribbon. When the concert is done late at night, who's going to remove the piercing? You can't do it yourself, especially on your back.

I would do it just for the experience, and get a photographer to take pictures of it.

Be careful. Make sure it's not a concert that you're going to get pushed around, or ripped on.
Or even drunk people touching it. Ick.
Infection city.

Exactly what everyone else has said.
Corset piercing's are what you would call play piercing's, most commonly done for special occasions or photo shoot's. it's wisest to have them taken out fairly soon afterwards, because of the high risk of rejection.
Definitely do not view corset piercing's as something that can be worn for month's on end. They are endlessly aggravated due to the placement and the amount done which makes it difficult for them to heal properly, not to mention having them laced up.
Sure, go ahead, get it done, get someone to take lot's of lovely pictures of you and then take it out :]
Corset piercings aren't meant to be permanent piercings. The rejection rate of the type of piercing you'd need is extremely high. And imagine that with at least 10 piercings.
They are play piercings, meant to be worn for a short time only (like a day or so).

Those aren't permanant peircings.
I would definitely call wherever you want to get this done and have some kind of consultation. They've probably seen it all when it comes to these piercings being done, taken out, healed, or rejected.

Also, I've always wondered what exactly you do if one of the piercings pulls out, as surface piercings can when you're sleeping and such. That may be another thing to ask about.
Hi, I hope I put this thread in the right forum sweatdrop

I'm seriously considering getting a permanent "corset" body modification done soon...(Well, maybe in a year or two. Tops.) I want it done on my spine, like this: http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lg0p9qvJyp1qcyp7no1_500.jpg

I want to know y'alls opinions on this (what you think of them, cute or not?), and hopefully somebody can share some personal advice...I've heard they are very difficult to properly heal because it's a surface piercing.

Also, it would be a HUGE help if someone can find some photos of the piercing without any rings or ribbon in (like, JUST the holes created from the piercing.) And I mean healed piercings, lol. So I can see what it would look like when mine is completely healed and I take everything out for whatever reason.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help smile
