what makes you think japanese teens dress in crazy fashions? they dress pretty normally to me confused

"Free style" my a**! My family used to have this friend who was in his mid-thirties and ran a vintage clothing store in japan. He used to come down here and buy stuff for his shop from my parent's vintage clothing store and the thrift shops around here because it was so cheap. He always used to tell us that:

A) The Japanese will buy just about anything that is either made in America or is fashionable in America, because Japanese teenagers think that American music and fashion trends are better than their trends.

B) If you are not wearing the latest trend as a teenager or young adult in Japan, it is next to impossible to get a date. According to him, the hipper you are, the more ladies you get!
