Where can I get a long, single-breasted coat (BESIDES online or thrift stores!*)?

See, I was sitting in deep thought last night, thinking of my next big project, and I decided to alter one or two long coats into American-colonial-style pieces.

The problem is, the store I got my last one from either only carries double-breasted ones with sewn-in belts (I could easily tear those out, but I'm planning on wearing this coat unbuttoned, and double-breasted ones only look flattering on me buttoned-up...), or no coats at all. So I need to get creative this time.

* Online shopping isn't exactly an option for me this time because my parents honestly do not understand my infatuation with colonial clothing and refuse to pay for anything that I'm just going to alter anyway. Even if I technically use my own money.
And the thrift stores around here are smelly and don't have anything interesting. I've looked.

Macy's has a great selection of outerwear. You might have to wait a few months, though. It's a little off-season for coats right now.

Thanks, I'll check it out... maybe do some research online and go buy it in a few months.

If the names Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are familiar to you, and if you have the same weird, irrational love for them as I do, then congratulations.

You're about as sane and well-adjusted as I am. ;D
