Welcome to Gaia! ::

my hairs cut to about an inch below my ears, but I got a short neck so it's not that big of a deal. Brown hair that I used to dye about every month. I got a round face but I love short hair.

Anybody got ideas for a really drastic cut/dye?

Also, where the hell do you think I could find some blue hair dye?

Did you want the blue hair dye to be permanent or just to have for like a day? x.x

if you want it to be permanent...no clue

I'm looking to update my medium-length, average-textured hair. I have a heart-shaped face. My hair now goes a little past my shoulders and is cut in layers and dyed a dark red. I am trying to grow it out, so I am not looking for cut suggestions. I want to know what color(s) I should try on my hair because getting answers from my mother is like pulling teeth

My hair currently looks like this.

Now, I like the scene hairstyles but it's too wild for my school, they'd probably make me shave my head. D: So I found the nearly-scene and keeps-the-school-happy hairstyle online. Here's the link.

edit;;
the links are messing up, so I'll just post the pic of the hair I want. :)

I was wondering, since I'm darker skinned, if it would still look good. Don't know. I really like the hairstyle but I'm clueless about my face shape, skin tone, etc and what would look good on me. Be completely honest, please. I don't want to go home looking like I have a dead rat on my head.

P.S. Just another thing I need help with, how do I tell the person in the salon how to cut my hair. Do I just say layered? What about the bangs? Where should my hair part? Do I just show her the picture and get it over with?

Thanks a lot. I love the new sticky, btw.

i think that cut would look good on you. it looks like the basic difference is she has her bangs straightened down into her face at an angle, where you have your bangs kinda curled to the side. also this pic looks like she just straightened the rest of her hair a bit more than you do your's. then of course there's a few more layers.

what i do to have my hair stylist know exactly what i want is i print out a picture of the cut i want.
just make sure it's clear to see the style, otherwise bringing the picture doesn't really help them.

hope that helped you :]]
Thankssss.

Ah, thanks for the compliment. But see thats why I'm so nervous to dye it. I;ve just had it natural all these years and all the sudden my mom wants me to go all blond, since I was a blond when I was a kid. sweatdrop

But yeah, definately makes sense. <3 Thanks for the advice.

Just remember, it is YOUR hair. And it's absolutely stunning by itself.

But if you are nervous about damaging it, you just have to go the extra step to keep it maintained. Since blonde seems to be the color you're leaning towards, you wanna mix using a "treated" hair shampoo and conditioner and a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Use the shampoo and conditioner for colored hair daily and use the moisurizing shampoo and conditioner once or twice a week.

I'd go with John Frieda for Blondes (they have a lot of great products for blonde hair... Never for red though! talk2hand ). And also check out both Dove and Herbal Essance. I use Dove and swear by it. But I've heard good things about all 3 brands.

Now if your mom or yourself is going to dye it at home, you need to have the proper tools and products as well. But if you are going to a salon, they should take care of it initally for you. If you have furthur questions, I've been dying my hair myself for 9 years now, so please pm me if you need further assistance.

Hope that helps.

I have the same problem except I keep mine long and layered. If you haven't considered layering it, I'd think about it. It gives it texture while also slightly thinning it. Which when you have thing hair and you cut it it's like an angel choir singing.

Anyway, since I don't know what kind of shampoo you use, I'd reccomend getting a moisturizing shampoo. Dove and herbal Essance both have products that are specifically for damaged hair. I'd look at those and decide which you prefer to use (I know price and smell do a lot for me). It sounds like you're not washing your hair everyday, which is good, because that means your hair can build up some of it's own defences against heat. I personally use V05 heat protectant... and that was because it was buy one get one at walgreens. It works good and smells very pretty.

As for keeping it straight longer. i can't give you a brand. I don't know where you're from But I'd go to a beauty store like Sally's (that where I get all my dying products) and look at what they have.

Hope that helps some. If you have any further questions, you can pm, maybe I can help further.

ignore the weird faces I'm making.

there's a closer pic. I'm looking to get my hair fixed next weekend, since all it seems to do is hang like that, and it is getting to an awkward length in the back, and does that weird flippy-thing. I'm looking for something that would flatter my face more, maybe a bit shorter? It's layered in the back. Low-maintenance is good, but since I'm in college I have a lot of extra time, so having to style it would probably be okay.
Any suggestions? sweatdrop
I think this belongs here...
I want to get part of my hair dyed, and I'm allowed to, but I'm just curious about the dying job.
I have dark dark brown hair, and I want to put purple or blue in it, and I'm wondering if they have to bleach it first and then put the purple or blue in it?
Also, after getting the hair dyed, what can I do to keep it healthy, because I straighten my bangs everyday to keep them from not curling.
Thanks. razz
