WTF ARE KIGURUMI?!
Instead of posting pictures first, I'll actually tell you what kigurumi are... by way of Wikipedia.
"Kigurumi (着ぐるみ, Kigurumi?) is the Japanese name for costumed animal characters. The name comes from the Japanese term
(着る – kiru: to wear) and (ぬいぐるみ – nui'gurumi': stuffed toy ~)....Full-body animal pajama with hoods or hats styled after
animals. " People who own and wear kigurumi are referred to as 'kigurumin'.
There are many many different kigurumi: animals, characters, etc. I'm probably NOT going to list each one until I have a very
long, boring day and feel like making dozens of hyperlinks. biggrin
Oh, and just so we're clear, THIS IS NOT FOR ANIMEGAO/DOLLING, FURSUITING, OR ZENTAI. I don't care if you do/ have
any of them, I would just like to make clear that my thread ISN'T about any of those.
That being said, you don't have to chat about kigurumi 24/7 in the thread. sweatdrop

Chillaxin' (in your kigu, mayhaps), talking (about kigu, probably), sharing pics (preferably of you n' your kigu), telling others
where/ how to buy kigurumi, and anything else you feel like doing. 3nodding
You can ask questions about the purchasing process, courier services, how to launder your kigu, where the cheapest ones are,
where the ones that are out of stock are, if certain ones exist, etc. I (and occasionally another thread-regular) will answer your
question(s) in a polite and timely manner. biggrin I'm here almost every day, for several hours.

A QUICK LITTLE PSA
Hello! It's me again! Sorry to interrupt the flow of information n' whatnot, but there's a little message I should really put in about
now. You see, I'm a very accommodating person- to a fault, even. However a strange sort of 'pattern' in posts has emerged
over the months. A pattern involving the word 'pointless'. We regulars have had some words about this pattern as of late. c:
"...Why does there need to be 'a point' to kigurumi? What's the point of wearing leggings under a tunic, or of
having chunky blond highlights, or even of buying exclusively from one brand or store? In fact- what's the
point of those weird house slippers that look like huge animal paws?
Kigurumi are comfortable. They are cute. People like them. People also like low-quality hoodies from all
different kinds of teeny-bopper stores. Why? Just because they do. Suffice to say- weird 'popular' trends are
'pointless' to me....
But I guess I can't change anyone's opinion, eh? Just statin' my view(s).

~~h heart ABOUT COURIER/SHOPPING SERVICES heart ~~
Yeah, here's the deal: most of the Japanese sites won't ship to anywhere outside of Japan. Therefore, if you find a kigu you'd like that isn't on any of the sites that ship worldwide (check the link to the buying guide in the above section for that info), you'd use a courier
service. Like Celga.
Celga will ship pretty much anything you order from a Japanese store heart . In fact, I used Celga to get my pikachu kigu. :3
Their current exchange rate is 100¥ = $1...a bit lower than when I ordered many months ago...All you have to do is sign
up for a free account to be able to order. Here is their ordering FAQ, since things've been upgraded and revamped since I
ordered my kigurumi.
Their service was excellent. I must've asked three or four questions in the first 2-3 days of the ordering process, and they
responded within a few hours, and alwayyss politely. They were so nice! :]
Hm... as for how fast it was, the whole process, from ordering to receiving my kigurumi, only took about two weeks; perhaps 16
days at the most. I sent the website order form (basically has the info about the product(s) you're gonna' buy, URL's, the
number you'd like, etc.), and they sent an email back one or two days later saying that they'd ordered it for me. I was invoiced in
that email and paid up.
(They've recently upgraded the system so that when your stock arrives at the warehouse, you'll be notified by email). Mine got there in a little over a week. (Although, apparently, it can take, like, two weeks or more.)
After you've confirmed your item(s) are there, you request that they ship your item(s). They'll invoice you for the shipping cost and you'll get your item sometime in the week. :]
Overall, I spent $45 on the actual kigurumi, and $20 in commission fees+shipping to Celga, and $26 on the shipping to my house. (So $91 total) @.@ Meh... it can be kind of expensive. (Although I maintain that it was completely worth it. razz ) Oh, and EMS ships the packages SOOO quickly! I got mine five days after sending the shipping form. o.o <3333
Annyywayyyy.. there you go: a bit of info about ordering from Celga. (If you do decide to get more than one thing
through Celga, you'd wait for BOTH of them to be received by Celga before requesting shipment.)
Really, it's not as complicated as I've managed to make it sound. xp And whether you decide to use Celga or not, I'll still love

Most things in life have no point at all. Most things are useless and stupid and dumb, but that's what makes life fun. TV is
useless, the internet is pretty useless too, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't stop anyone of us from doing what we

what you have to say.

Yeah, here's the deal: most of the Japanese sites won't ship to anywhere outside of Japan. Therefore, if you find a kigu you'd like that isn't on any of the sites that ship worldwide (check the link to the buying guide in the above section for that info), you'd use a courier
service. Like Celga.
Celga will ship pretty much anything you order from a Japanese store heart . In fact, I used Celga to get my pikachu kigu. :3
Their current exchange rate is 100¥ = $1...a bit lower than when I ordered many months ago...All you have to do is sign
up for a free account to be able to order. Here is their ordering FAQ, since things've been upgraded and revamped since I
ordered my kigurumi.
Their service was excellent. I must've asked three or four questions in the first 2-3 days of the ordering process, and they
responded within a few hours, and alwayyss politely. They were so nice! :]
Hm... as for how fast it was, the whole process, from ordering to receiving my kigurumi, only took about two weeks; perhaps 16
days at the most. I sent the website order form (basically has the info about the product(s) you're gonna' buy, URL's, the
number you'd like, etc.), and they sent an email back one or two days later saying that they'd ordered it for me. I was invoiced in
that email and paid up.
(They've recently upgraded the system so that when your stock arrives at the warehouse, you'll be notified by email). Mine got there in a little over a week. (Although, apparently, it can take, like, two weeks or more.)
After you've confirmed your item(s) are there, you request that they ship your item(s). They'll invoice you for the shipping cost and you'll get your item sometime in the week. :]
Overall, I spent $45 on the actual kigurumi, and $20 in commission fees+shipping to Celga, and $26 on the shipping to my house. (So $91 total) @.@ Meh... it can be kind of expensive. (Although I maintain that it was completely worth it. razz ) Oh, and EMS ships the packages SOOO quickly! I got mine five days after sending the shipping form. o.o <3333
Annyywayyyy.. there you go: a bit of info about ordering from Celga. (If you do decide to get more than one thing
through Celga, you'd wait for BOTH of them to be received by Celga before requesting shipment.)
