I like to listen to music, mostly, from the 80s because it was real music back then. Actually, up to the late 90s but anyway. I like R&B, a little bit of Rap, pop and alternative music.

u no music dats was up!!! at least some one listenin to black music not dem rock bands or tokyo hotel s**t
sup yall my name is alex i listen to alot of rap independent and record label even old school and my over all review is this

Old school:I like most old school music like pac biggie easy ghetto boys because you know those are the roots of what rap is today

New School:I feel that music now an days is garbage because it really dosent have a message like back in the day you know how tupac was a revolutionary and he wanted change in the ghetto and plus there is all this record label garbage that put a certain image on rappers and they really cant be artistic because their label produces what they want and throws alot of the artist music away and from there builds a lie on the artist and plus there is so much media cencore ship i think lil wayne swizz newboys fabulous and alot more label music is garbage because it dosent teach you anything but being greedy having nice cars and being hard wich they really are not

Independent:I have heard alot of indeoendent music like jean grae talib kweli blackthought outerspace immortal tech jedi mind tricks ideal and many many more artist and i feel that they produce very great music and they keep it real not that f** blood gang garbage lil wayne portrays the game to and he is homies with snoop a alleged crip ******** retarded but the sad thing is none of this music gets played on the radio all you hear is rude boy and a milli what the f** is that i dont want my future children listening to this s**t.

in the end i fell most music that gets played is garbage and it portrays a bad image for hip hop and im pretty sure alot of people wont be able to understand the meaning of my words because they grew up listening to this mess support independent hip hop and free your mind peace.

Hey guys.

Been listening to hip-hop, rap, r&b since I was born in '91! I absolutely love the music from the 90s and early 2000s. Nothing past 2004 is worth listening to in my opinion... for the most part. I can't think of any exceptions right now though.

I'm more of an R&B fan, actually. BUT when I was 11 or 12 years old, I remixed tracks together along with my own lyrics and was a siiiiick freestyler. I probably have all that old stuff lying around somewhere. I have not written anything in a long, long time.

Anyway...

Some of the women I really respect are..
Mariah Carey
Mary J. Blige
Toni Braxton
Alicia Keys
TLC (T-Boz, LEFT EYE, and Chili! <3)
3LW before they did Cheetah Girls
AALIYAH
Eve
Lil' Kim
Trina
Missy Elliott
Destiny's Child
Beyonce before she did the whole Sasha Fierce BS
Monica
Brandy
Mya
P!NK (yes, she is considered R&B...)
Kelis
Ashanti
Ciara

And probably a loooot more than that but I can't think of any more right now. Haha... but there is one female Japanese singer that does R&B named... Jamosa. She's got a beautifuuul voice and sexy beats in her music.

Here's my fave vid from an awesome girl on YouTube who does a bunch of remixes of some of my favorite artists.. You should watch it if you want to see what REAL R&B was like. ;]
