Stalker or Assassin X in PVM?

I love Sin X I find them easier to use and much stronger.

Sinx is much better than stalker. Hiding is not going to be much of a use when pvming. Many monsters can see through the hiding anyway..Much better to have cloaking as to be able to run away faster from monsters that can pierce the cloaking skill then move slowly away with hiding. The quest skill thing(sonic acceleration??) is also good for sinx as it boosts the damage of sonic blow.

The only way i can see the stalker pvming or even mvping is if you fullstrip, hiding, backstab and then back slide and spam it with arrows in a party...

I haven't played RO in a while but in a sudden craving I think I'd appreciate starting up again.

I know which class I want to play, and thats narrowed it down to the thief class. However, I'm mostly interested in PVM (player versus monster) or boss monsters.

In the long run, would Assassin Cross or Stalkers be better at this? And which builds?

I'd personally chose SinX cause if you're geared they do decent damage with sonic blow. Also you can go pvp as well with a sinx. However, using a stalker is similar but people usually use a bow and have high flee (dodge mvp's).

I thought about this and I believe the fact that Stalkers can use a shield makes a huge difference. More damage reduction in Def as well as your 30% reduce to damage card on top of that.

sinx is really powerful y'know??
first of all he can choose between SD or SB
he can use ECD that make a really destructive damage,not to mention it..if you make a PVP type sinx,you won't regret it biggrin

For mere PvM I suggest a sinx.

Stalkers are definitely the stronger and more useful ones for PvP and especially for WoE, but for a pure PvMer, choose a sin.
If you wanna solo, go for a Grimtooth build, if you're gonna party up with others, go for Soul Breaker.
I'm one of the players that still love the good old agi/crit build, so you could go for that too, I can recommend it - bloody fun! ninja
