Stalker or Assassin X in PVM?

I haven't played RO in a while but in a sudden craving I think I'd appreciate starting up again.

I know which class I want to play, and thats narrowed it down to the thief class. However, I'm mostly interested in PVM (player versus monster) or boss monsters.

In the long run, would Assassin Cross or Stalkers be better at this? And which builds?

normally the sin's are stronger but depends what kind of style of fighting u like.

Sins are better for pvm if you prefer boring gameplay, like just sitting there beating things to death. However, I personally prefer stalker, just because they can use virtually any skill in game through intimidate, which makes for alot more variety in gameplay. To me this makes sure you never get bored.

They are both VERY different, almost impossible to compare them.

Assassin to Sinx is, sure, a grindfest of wonderful grimtooth spam, but upon getting to the wonder of sinx, you have several different choices for builds. My favorite for PvM is Soul Breaker (also known as Soul Destroyer), especially when you get yourself a set of elemental haes and an ice pick, as well as a quad zipperbear orc axe (best....weapon...everrrrrr). Pump str/int, get about 50 dex give or take and pump the rest into whatever you want (...speed is sort of useless, as well as luk, so I always pump vit or get outrageous dex...fast cast is win).
Also with Sinx you have the wonderful choice of enchant deadly poison, which is an essay on its own...oh the places you can go with that. And the leeching you can do~

Stalker though...leveling wise, and mostly in PvM you will most likely play as a bow stalker. In my opinion, if you are going to do that just make a Sniper. Stalkers are only good for PvP anyway. Anything you do with a stalker can be done better with other classes, except for their stripping, which is sort of useless in PvM

I have been playing Sin for the longest time.. Long Grindsessions... and Sin X is even longer...


Also it's hard to find parties.

I think stalker because you can copy anything in stalker.. just copy from a high wizard in level 10 storm gusts and your ready to PVM

Choose Assassin Cross. Its more powerful compared to stalkers. But it would also depend on your build and equips. For me, I'd make Snipers for PVM especially if Im hunting for MVP.

Full strip is pretty useless in PVM but if u want a farmer its best to go stalker but a Sin X would be easier to lvl and kill more quickly, stalkers are better pvp classes full strip just does wonder (if they dont have a alch coat their items)

*edit* i will edit one thing bow stalkers can be pretty decent pvm wise theyre pretty similar to a hunter though except u can hide and back slide and will do less dmg

It depends on your build and what you like. Stalkers have long range which is always a plus with abyk cards, but you can also go bowling bash and mob. Likewise, you can go int builds and choose magic to plaigarize or vit and plaigarize martyr. Stalkers also make good sbkers because dex applies to their damage as well as phys accuracy and int will boost damage greatly, also your arrows change your sbk's element which can ad up to 200% on its own. However sbk only works with atk+ not damage %

For a sinX you can get a slotted ele katar and try crit or you can go dagger/sword or dagger/dagger and get a double atk+off hand. You can have up to 8slots with 4s weapons, which is great with abyk or turtle gen (edp mag break is pretty nice). Edp is a majour plus in general, along with dual weilding and dbl attack, but your have little to no range.

just depends what you fancy. if your server doesn't reach max aspd very easily, I would suggest using a sniper until you have gears to pump up your sinX. Same goes for cast time and after cast with your mages or stalkers.

ds/single shot+backslide, time it right and you can fire immediately before you backslide.
