There's nothing wrong with being on a private server. I'm on one becuase I can't afford to pay each month. Even though it's only like £8. We need the money crying

Actually, it's still wrong. I get that you can'y pay for the official one, but it's still 100% illegal. Even so, I play on the official and use P. Servers to test out different builds. /hypocrite

Downloading DVD rips and mp3's is just as illegal. But loads of people do that. XD

To be quite honest. Im not saying private servers are all bad. Just the ones that are over x2 rates. (Which thats most of them.) Private servers do steal what the official servers players pay for. If it wasn't for offical servers, Private Server's would not exist. They also have things like Wings and s**t, this is not an RO item, its an item made by a extreme nerdy fan that people loved. Usually most of them add +2bil stats (Just an examble). Somthing that does this is over-powering and ruins the games. And people who post screen shots of people or things being pwn'd with like a 999,999 storm gust or a 999,999 attack, its not real, its just over-power'd ways of saying dude ima noob.

I already posted about the rates. The official servers rates are so low because the longer you play the more you pay, they get more money. If you've been playing for years, you've paid Gravity over $100 for a game that is so not worth that.
Some people don't have a time to level a character on 1/1/1 or even 5/5/5, it would take some people years.
I play on a good server, well funded, reliable servers. They've tried to make it as close to the official servers as they can, no custom items etc. But it has very high rates, 3k/3k/1k. The max level is 254 so it does take work to get there. E.g. killing one poring will get you to about level 7/8, but it will take several, maybe 15-20 Biolab3 mobs to gain even one level past 200. It takes the average person nearly two weeks to max a character.
Because of the lower drop rate compared to the others, it's not a case of, 'once you're maxed you have nothing else to do'. Geting good in PvP there is a matter of wit and strategy, not a matter of leveling up for years so you have a higher level then the guy you're facing.

Rates are all about your own taste and ability. Some people don't want to spend years leveling one character. If you don't have mountains of free time and patience, and a steady income, you're not going to be playing the official servers now are you? Private servers give everyone a chance to play it, not just those who devote a portion of their life to the game.
