Welcome to Gaia! ::

Anyone know what a good Archer build is? Because Im becoming a Hunter.
I have an auto-falconner build. x.x Not sure how good it is, but it works great for me.

Mostly dex, with agi not far behind, and I started building luck up after job level 30. x.x

I'd tell you my stats if I had ragnarok on this computer. xP But I don't, so ;-;.

Dex, obviously for being a hunter. Agi for the speed. xP And Luck to help with the falcon auto-blitzing. x.x Works nicely for me, and I only have about 27 luck, if I remember correctly.
thats hardly an auto-falconer build razz I have a luk hunter (or auto-falconer a s I guess its being called). with buffs, I have well over 100 luk, and my bird goes off once per second. With this in mind, my damage is dependent on my bird. You don't go much dex for this build (35ish), you need mostly agi, and obviously luk.

If this is your first hunter though, I'd go just normal agi/dex. For my agi dex hunter (yeah I have two lol) I went about 45 dex then did agi till 60 then back to lvling dex. You'll figure out whether you want more agi or dex as you lvl. Personally I got more agi than dex on my agi/dex hunter because I wanted her to dodge more when soloing. I'll get her like 20luk later when she its lvl 76 just to make her bird move, but you pretty much just want to stick to agi and dex for your stats until you're higher lvl. Oh and getting agi dex and int as your starting stats is nice too in my opinion, cause the int helps you regen when double strafing. (a willow carded head gear (+80sp) such as s. goggles or hair bow is also good cause it will allow you to use your sp more).
Actually that IS an Auto Blitz build. (Auto Falconer, just the same)

Yours is a Luk Hunter :p.

I also had a Hybrid Huntress, stats at time of leaving her inactive (lv 84) were:

1 str, 86 agi, 1 vit, 70 dex, 9 int, 35 luk. (no bonuses)

If you're getting luk, well, I wouldn't get more than 43 with bonuses, which I think was... 15% chance of auto blitz?

Reason I don't suggest a lot of Luk... is that I think falcon is wind elemental now?

Wind = bad (well, I liked neutral better).
with the exception of some skill the paper does where it goes /gg, everything takes the same damage from my falcon.

Since this is, like, your first hunter ever, I'd recommend getting 80 DEX and 80 AGI, so that your damage output and Flee attain a level of excellence. Whether the rest of your stat points go into LUK, INT, or VIT is entirely up to you and depends mostly upon what you want out of your hunter. LUK is good for crits and auto-falcon; if you're not worried about crit and/or don't plan on relying on the falcon, then LUK may not be your thing. INT helps with SP total, SP regen, and soft MDef, as mentioned before, but if you have a good supply line for SP restoratives and MDef buffing gear then that might not be an issue for you. VIT increases your HP total, HP regen, and soft Def, so it's something to consider.

Auto-falconers and crit-ers benefit the most from luck; if you plan on spamming Double Strafe, Arrow Shower, or Phantasmic Arrow a lot, you might want to get INT; trappers benefit from a split difference between LUK and VIT, for higher damage and greater survivability (sometimes s**t can get by your traps, after all). And of course, VIT benefits everyone at all times, so yeah.

I did a pre-Renewal gear recommendation thread for hunters, and a lot of it is still applicable for non-trans/pre-3rd hunters even now. Let me see if I can dig it up for you.

Okay, found it.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/ragnarok-online/recommendations-for-hunter-sniper-equipment/t.58945841/

The effectiveness of the quad-carded Knife [4], Bow [4], and Composite Bow [4] have greatly diminished since Renewal came into effect, so feel free to disregard that entirely. Also, there have been a lot of new gears added since Renewal went live, so you might want to check the Wiki Database for gear equippable by hunters/snipers/rangers when you're planning long-term equipment goals.

One thing I didn't consider when I typed all that teal deer up is the existence of dagger hunters and their reliance on sheilds. I mentioned the Guard [1], which is pretty much all hunters have access to, and went over the Thorn Buckler set, but snipers and rangers get a few more options. If you decide to go dagger-trap, you might want to look into getting a Bradium Shield [1], Round Buckler [1], Stone Buckler [1], or Valkyrja's Shield [1]. In addition to or instead of the Penomena card, the shield card you might want to invest in is the Hodremlin card.

A headgear card that I didn't mention, but might help out a bit, is the Vanberk card. The STR +2 bonus isn't particularly useful to a hunter, but the chance to activate Crit +100 is useful for any attacker class character, so that's something to consider.

One more thing. We can give you suggestions all you like, but the best way to build a character that you'll enjoy playing is to plan ahead and work it out for yourself. There are skill simulators and stat/equipment simulators that you can use to do this.

http://irowiki.org/~himeyasha/ (Himeyasha's skill simulator, frankly the best around.)
http://calcxre.wushuang.ws/ (ROratorio stat/equipment calculator. It's missing a few gears, but overall it's really nice and easy to use.)
Do you need a PVP build or a PVE build? Otherwise, there's tons of builds on sites like GameFAQ that are pretty decent and can be tweeked to your liking.
basically u want dex Maxed thats ur dmg...agi is decent since its u dodge and auto atk speed but keep in mind with high dex u can spam ur atk skill (dun remember its name it shoots like 2 arrows i think or just hits twice its ur first most used atk skill)

which is what youll use more often then just auto attacking...so get ur agi high something like 60-70 then put the rest into vit

hunters are pretty easy mode :3

I agree with the auto-blitzing. Mainly cause it's fun.
Thread is reported for a phishing attempt.

And I wouldn't know. Never played a Hunter.
well it depends on the type of hunter. the common build for a hunter is AGI and DEX. while the build for a falcon hunter is AGI, DEX, and LUK

yum_tea GameFAQ is good for console games, but I would never recommend it for someone trying to build a MMO character. Not only were those "uber builds" not entirely viable pre-RE, Renewal has completely changed how the game is played, making that data outdated. The most recently updated guide there was posted in 2007--it's completely worthless now.

OP, this guy has given you terrible advice. Never listen to him.
