OHSHI... Lookie what Doddler just posted! I added this to my reposting of Tux's RO website thread, but I think it deserves its own topic. Maybe I'll add to it if they do something OSM like post more sprites. They may have already but I can't read Korean. n_n

I'm going to use the original kRO class names here, because the names iRO chose for 2nd class are going to cause some confusion.

Rune Knight (Changes from Knight, Lord Knight)
Warlock (Changes from Wizard, High Wizard)
Ranger (Changes from Hunter, Sniper)
Arc Bishop (Changes from Priest, High Priest)
Guillotine Cross (Changes from Assassin, Assassin Cross)
Mechanic (Changes from Black Smith, White Smith)
Royal Guard (Changes from Crusader, Paladin)
Shura (Changes from Monk, Champion)
Sorcerer (Changes from Sage, Professor)
Dark Chaser (Changes from Rogue, Chaser)
Generic (Changes from Alchemist, Creator)
Minstrel (Changes from Bard, Clown)
Wanderer (Changes from Dancer, Gypsy)

You must be level 99 in order to change into third class. You can change as either 99 base class, or 99 trans class. The primary advantage of going transcendent before becoming third class is that you of course have access to the advanced skills that trans classes offer.

And Now We Has Sprites For 3-1!

--Personal Notes--

"Shura" refers to the characters in the monk/champion's strongest skill, Ashura Haouken (Guillotine Fist on iRO). Shura means fighting or carnage on the battlefield.

And yes, the 3rd class for bard on kRO is minstrel, the name they gave 2nd class on iRO. That'll teach iRO to mess up class names...

Will iRO change the class and skill names to their original intended versions? Will they make up even more crazy variations? Who knows.

Discuss?

99 trans and THEN 3rd class? Wow. Sounds TERRIBLY unbalanced.

The name "Generic" amuses me since Biochems/Alchemists are about as mass-produced and generic as a class can get. And roffle Wanderer...

...Aside from that... CAN SHURA HAS BETTER COMBO SKILLS PRZ? That might actually make me want to 99 my Champ. >_>

Gah, the way they put it... "Wanderer" sounds like some kind of hobo. ;__; *hugs her gypsy*

Can't wait till they post new skills. :v

Interesting name. Yay Shura xD;

I like Wanderer. And lol@Generic.

Aw crap. I'm a freakin Dark Chaser. I demand a better name.

HAWT :3

+10 On creativity, I'm not happy that they just stick a prefix on knight and TADA a class name. Got to hand it to the Stalkers, Sinxes and Biochemists though, they got it pretty bad. (lol generic)

gawd, they better come out with good skills or else I'm gonna castrate some GMs or something =[

The main thing that bothers me about the way things are now (yes, I know this is all still purely speculative) is the option of either going to 99 as a normal class and then going to a 3rd, OR 99ing as a trans and then going to 3rd.

... If a 99 trans is allowed to keep all (or even some) of the extra skills and stat points they got from transing when changing to a 3rd class, this will give them a significant advantage over those who get a 99 normal class and then go 3rd. Very few people are going to want to party a 3rd class that's short on stat points or lacks vital trans skills.

This mainly bothers me because not everyone has the time and resources to go 99 as a trans. Hell, it took me 3 years to 99 my first normal class character. Sure nobody is forcing us to 99 a trans in order to check out 3rd classes, but it seems like a waste for those very same people to trade in their hard-earned 99 normal class for a 3rd class that might end up sub-par due to lack of skills/stats.

But if they don't let transes go 3rd class, there'll be even more whining... Especially with 3rd classes and their expanded level limit. I wonder if there's a compromise?

iRO player since April '03... Doing a poor job of quitting!
I wanna see what all the sprites will look like. @_@

Exactly what I was thinking Tris. I'm not too crazy about allowing Transcendent classes to advance to 3rd class either. The 3rd class should be a bracket of their own making them different from transcendent. If anything I don't mind if they made it that you had to go through High Noob again to become the 3rd class.

Oh well. We can only wait and see.

/sigh

I don't see the point of letting Trans go to 3rd, that's stupid.
I mean, I thought 3rd classes were supposed to be an option, whether or not to Trans or go 3rd class. =[

Yeah I figured that would be better but now it seems like if I dont trans then Ill have a crappy character.

We are the sickness, the stench of the deceased Your father's secret shame Our violent wrath shall be unleashed We feast on blood and the weakness of your kind From the haunted depths we have arisen to slither as the snake
Well, if the 3rd classes were being permitted to go to 150, like they were planning [or it was mentioned in an update ages ago] and you DIDN'T let the trans classes follow suit, either by continuing to level normally [giving them some new quest skills?] or giving them the ability to jump to the third tier, would have been really lame.

Who'd play a Lord Knight when you can get a bonus 51 levels [if you play that long...] on a Rune Knight...
Sorry, I'm on P.Servers, and even an amazingly well equipped level 99 will fall to the hands of a half-wit level 150... Unless the 150 y'know, suffers a heart-attack while getting beaten to within an inch of death by a wild herd of hobo-monkeys in tuxedos as they simultaneously make him write six SATs [all in different languages, three of which no one uses anymore].

They should, however, give the regular non-transcendent classes a "bonus" so you're not emoing it for years on end. Nothing as good as the bonus skills and stats a trans class offers, but something in compensation...

They mentioned levels 100-150 won't work like levels 1-99 in terms of how you get stats. Unless I'm mistaken, which I could be, p.servers treat 100-150 as just more levels with basically the exact same system as 1-99?

Correct. But even ignoring the stat boosts, that's an increase in HP and SP. Are you saying that a level 30 character has relatively the same HP as a level 80 character?
