I agree with chocobo.... we could possibly use charts or something to do with the evolving items. The users dont understand them and it is a bit annoying to answer the same questions over and over again. So thanks to the moderators for comming out with those announcements and such, but i do think you should make some sort of evolving item sticky in this forum so we can redirect the users that need help there.


Also mabey you should tell the users about how gaia glitches lots when events and mcs come out. We all know that it happens plus lags but i think they should know..(new users especially)

Most questions asked here in the Q&A are regarding hacking issues, questions regarding how to do things (new events, quests) and also what to do on Gaia.

The Gaia FAQ/Help would be great if included in depth explanations on how to do major things on Gaia, like reporting a hacking, scammer, moderator personator, spam, etc. If possible, include many images in the Gaia FAQ since pictures ease the reading and cause further understanding.

Also, emphasizing on things NOT to do on Gaia. Honestly there are too many noobs on this website you can't keep their password to themselves regardless of the hundreds of warning messages throughout the entire community PROMPTING NOT to give away your password to anyone.

Instead of pointless ads, how about we use REAL ads for all Gaia users.

Or better yet, put things like that on the HOME PAGE. It's the first thing you see, and it will be really hard to miss.

Explain the Image Display level option, I see several people that didn't know there was an option.
(They were asking why their sig image is a link.)

Edit: Also explain BBCode and the ones Gaia uses. I've seen several forums with a list of the BBCodes that are used and what they do.

I didn't read all but maybe on gaia cash cards and the many ways to buy. What a NPC is . Who are the founders of gaia. What is gaia. A list of the mods and who does what and so on.

Well, I dont have much to say but its when a account get hacked, I think there should be a list of all mods / admins and such... and also somewhere stating that as soon as you know you7 have gotten hacked to pm a online mod to get them to freeze your account - i only learnt about this when my friend got hacked and when i did - thanks to me asking a omni mod to freeze my account i was able to secure my items and also the hacker using my account coincidently sent her a PM asking why they cant buy in the MP and such. which then helped the recovery of my items which they tried to trade and also the banning of yet another hacker.


I just think people should know that you can freeze your gaia account so they can secure their own items also.

[sorry if this seems kind of random, but i just kind of went with things as i thought of them and or saw them in other posts... i bolded where the ideas started... im not very good and organizing my ideas i guess]

wow, Chocobo Princess just summed up everything that i was about to say...
however, she missed all of the people who cant figure out how to add playlists on profiles (i have yet to even try messing with it) it would be nice if that was elaborated on a bit more.

as for the charts for evolving items, i have some basic mock-ups of those in my guide (posted link in other thread)

as DevilVine pointed out, the BBCode thing could use a bit better of an explanation for some users like perhaps even something that just explained that all the basic BBCode functions were found in that dark-gray bar when your submitting a post.

mange de la merde touched on it lightly, but we do definitely need visual guides for many things... (mostly because the much of the gaia populous is right brained and dont like reading long things)

perhaps also make a sticky with step-by-step instructions on how to contact a mod and what ones to contact if something goes wrong (perhaps add something somewhere that will list all mods and show what ones are on?
and a FAQ post-thing about the OMG widget explaining what it is for and that it no longer seems to grant gold/items.
for sure do something to help people with the image display level thing
oh and a big thing about the inventory... perhaps there should be something to explain that the inventories dont start in the "all" tab, but rather in the "equip" tab

Sorry, I didn't read through all of the posts, but I'm fairly certain that my suggestion hasn't been touched upon yet nor that it's in the FAQ: What to do when you can't remember your email address or your password.
Granted, when you request for your password and it's sent to your email, there's some text along the lines of, "If you no longer have access to that account, please register again or contact customer support," but I wouldn't think many people would request their password if they can't remember their email address. Considering that, y'know, an email address is needed.

something that needs to be in the FAQ is the diffrence between hacking cracking and scamming!!! seriously i'm tired of peiople saying they were hacked when they were stupidly scammed or gave out their password. and saying they were hacked period. hacks are codes that modify things. scams are ways to obtain your password, cracks are breaking into your account and using item numbers and whatnot to clone and delete.

in other words "hacks" would only modify the games, make a certaint fish more common in fishing or make constant blackjacks in cards or always get three match in slots. or you COULD modify DC to get better items. or modify gold granting......

my point is this stuff needs to be in the FAQ. and in a sticky.

Actually Gaia uses its own terms. Hacking on Gaia is any unauthorized entering of an account period. Scamming is when they've not gained access to your account but have taken your things, such as switching items in a trade so you don't notice or selling you avatar art but just taking the gold and running. (Let's not go into the flash game hacking, that's different).

We don't use the general internet terms here, though clarification could be added to the FAQ.

One suggestion:please, since even though it is plastered all over the place people still ignore it, please put the explanation of the Gaian ranks/colors somewhere, and explain that no member of the staff will EVER ask for your password.

Secondly, there are many (mostly IE-using people) experiencing rendering problems due to their ISP's DNS servers going screwy. us peoples at the C/T forum have found that this can be fixed with no install/download by switching to OpenDNS, which will not only correct these errors, but protect from many phishing and malware sites. Maybe a short how-to would help?

I think that maybe giving something about event items in the FAQ (Maybe even give a list of them) could be useful because I've often seen people ask how the get certain items and they don't realise that they aren't available anymore and they had to do an event for them.

Just a thought.
