Well I am over 18 and I do have very good qualifications, and this would be great for my future resume. However, when I click the "Click here to apply to become a Gaia moderator." I receive this error:

Sorry, but you may not apply to be a moderator at this time.

Any reason why I am getting this? Also, I just noticed my birthday was shown wrong so I changed it to the correct birthday (April 10th, 1989) can I not apply because of the change?

No, you're not the only one. How can we check our b-day? Mine should be December 02, 1988, but it says that I can't.

I'm not 18 as of this particular moment in time, but I do turn 18 in 17 days. I've already talked to my dad about this and he doesn't see any problem with me joining. So my question is, do I have to wait 17 days until I turn 18? Or can I apply now?

You must wait the 17 days. If you apply to early then you will have wasted your application because you won't have been 18 at the time you submitted it.

Is the request for your password on the moderator application that appears below the eleven terms of agreement legitimate?
     

figured out why i can't see my sig, can't fix it yet. On another note i'm only waiting on my ethernet cord to get going again full force!

The age thing is the only prerequisite that the announcement even shows. It doesn't say anything else about them. What are these prerequisites? Because apparently I don't fall into the circle cause I "cannot apply at this time."

I have a question that is probably on everyone's minds... What exactly are the incentives to becoming a Gaian Moderator...? I am seriously interested in becoming a mod, but I would like to know what benefits are included with this position, aside from keeping Gaia running efficiently, and maintaining Gaia's standards and P&P's.

Awww man. I've been here for 2 years though It'll take 4 more years until I'm allowed!

Meh I guess I'll have to wait until they let people under 18 become mods. I just hope they'll hurry up!

Why does the application ask for our password? I believe Gaia says in at least a few dozen places to never give out your password and that Gaia will never ask for it. The application defies this by asking for our password.

I'd like to apply but i will not put my password into the application because there is no reason for anyone but me to have it.
I agree.
I do not wish to put my password when we are reminded again and again never to give it to ANYONE.

I think everybody should get a chance! Some younger children have great ideas. Like me, I write stories and such, and so I have a extensive imagination. But everyone should have a chance! I spend the time I have on the computer and dedicate it to Gaia, so I would love to be a Moderator. Many would! 3nodding Some people are trustworthy, others aren't! Thank you...lol...People for some reason are having a hard time getting what they are asking for. People think that they will be writting story line or they keep saying they are not 18 so they are mad. Well get over it.

I'm sorry if you haven't gotten to my question but I posted it on the first page asking why you are asking for the password. For the younger gaians can you please make a new thread to complain about the age limit? There are some of us that have legitimate questions and the MODs can't see them when you are spamming.

Why does trading ask for a password?

MODERATORS cannot ask for passwords.

This is not a moderator; this is an online application. If you are logged in and someone else can access your account and lies about your age, what are you going to do about that when Gaia finds out?

No, you must be 18 at the time in which you apply. Just wait a week and apply then 3nodding


What if there are no more spaces to register then?

That's a good point, kind of upsets the whole admins or mods will never ask for your password thing. But it was an official announcement so I would say its safe with 99.9 % certainty. Unless some super twisted hacker broke through the admin system?

Though I'm sure every scam miester on Gaia will be sending fake mod applications through the PM system, so be careful. rolleyes
