My one and only question is, if we fit this application, and we go to apply and don't even get a chance, you letting liars into the modding business, what if others like myself don't lie and try to apply and it doesn't work...

I think it depends on how long ago the infraction occured and whether or not the user demonstrates change. * Is Gaia going to close the application process after a set time, or after a set number of people have been accepted?The mod team is always looking to expand. * Do you have to know all of the TOS to apply?You're expected to have a basic understanding of site rules. If/When your application is accepted, you'll recieve further training. 3nodding * Will all users who apply recieve a reply regardless of acceptance? If a user is rejected, will they be informed?I believe all users will be given a yay/nay. * Will applicants be able to choose what sections they are responsible for modding? * What is the post limit for those applying? How many posts do you need to have in order to apply? * Do you have to be a member of gaia for a specific amount of time in order to apply? * How will Gaia verifiy the identities of all applicants? * What can we disclose about the application itself? * Will one of the challenges, before becoming a mod, deal with helper activities? What are the experiences that keep you working for Gaia and when problems are aimed at you in particular, how do you deal? I like to know that I am helping people have a safe hangout, a place for people to meet and become friends without interruption. It's rewarding to know that people enjoy this site. I'd say about ~2-3 months depending on the position they are to take. I believe Helper positions have a shorter training time. Correct me if I'm wrong, mods/ assistant mods. |

I'm all nervous because this is a new account (well... however months ago old last November would be), but I've been here so long. And it's got a somewhat low (though over 1k) post count. It could ruin my chances. :[[[[ I`m not ENTIRELY sure about being automatically declined but I`m pretty sure you wont be since there are other things to consider as well. However I stopped using that one and made this one in January of 2006 and this one has about 3500 posts. Will the fact that this account isn't two years old have a negative effect on my application? "jj1996" why cant youger kids be moderaters do u think 18 year olds smarter and will take it more seriously well i am shocked gaia is for all age groups and and there are more 14 yaer olds then they are 18 year olds and me and my bff qazsr want to be moderaters and we thing that its unfair that we cant be . from qazsr & jj1996 Its not that the mods/admins only think people who are 18 and older are smarter.Its a legal issue.They cannot allow anyone under 18 to do such a task without parental permission by a document. They plan on making it so that people under 18 can send in applications for being a mod.So just be patient, and when this option has come in, you and you bff can enter appplications.^^ |

Meaning, moving threads or dealing with reports? The Moderator Assistant position exists for a reason. 3nodding * Along the same lines, will the duties of Moderators be clearly outlined if accepted? Yes * How long are Mods required to be online to help during a day or week? Is there a requirement? We have to do something each week. But there's no outrageous expectation like "You must commit an hour of every day to modding" or anything like that. * Are there system requirements for Moderators' individual computers?If you're able to use Gaia now, you'll be able to use Gaia as a moderator * Will timezone of the applicant influence acceptance? "Unusual" timezones are always lovely, but other criteria are far more important. Can I please ask, does it matter if you're not from the U.S? |

"Dr Poptart" I applied but my posts is around the 100s which is kind of bad for my join date. What if everything on my application is great but I don't have lots of posts? I'm guessing that my application will be turn down. Most likely, yes. But you never know, admins might be willing to bend a rule like that if you're one of those perfect candidates. |

"SkySangYoon" what is the diff when you become a mod? Several things. 1. You get "Followers" 2. More PM floods because your a Moderator. 3. Different colored name. 4. More things to watch. 5. The ability to help others more. 6. Did I mention PM floods? 7. "Moderator" as a title. 8. the ability to say you were a MOderator of [subject here] on Gaiaonline 9. More of your life is aimed toward Gaia Online. |
