You can know and communicate with moderators and staff as a regular user, you don't need to be a forum assistant to be able to do so.

You've only got 93 posts. If it says you've not got 300, it means you've not got 300.

That would depends on what position Gaia is hiring. If it's designer (items, graphics, etc), you will need to learn art skills. If it's Developer (web layout, program making, etc.), you will need to learn the coding skills such as html, css, flash,etc. Anyway, this thread is for Moderator Positions, not paid staffs position.

No, a mod cannot ban a user for no reason. All cases have to go through investigation with full evidence before actions are taken.

Fetus is right. While yes, warnings can be revoked and previous bans can be placed in error and also revoked, the application system currently doesn't take that into consideration.

It's a technical issue, not a policy issue. If your ban was placed in error, it theoretically doesn't count against you. However, because of the way the application system is set up it doesn't take that into consideration and so you find while you should be able to apply it doesn't let you.

It's just something that needs tweaking, but I've no idea when it would be done. Honestly, with everything going on at Gaia I doubt this application system is a high priority (but that's a guess).

It could be that they have changed this recently. I had received a verbal warning back in 2004 for flaming, was the only time anything like that happened to me. Never got a banning, then the application came out and I couldn't apply. I later found out this was because of the banning, but when I contacted a GM I was told it couldn't be revoked.Now either this was later rectified, or the application system is a bit more lenient.

That being said, I do recall either being told by one of the GMs I contacted, or reading in this topic that applying for a GM position on another account for another account isn't entirely frowned upon if the account in question has issues due to a strange mark on your account. I might have misunderstood what I was told, or my memory might be failing me, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
