Welcome to Gaia! ::

I know this is off topic, I just couldn't find the right forum. Moderator or Staff worker for some reason when I post something I will usally get up to 39 to at least 45 gold but eversince a certain time on Nov.7 2009 I have been getting 2-9 gold. I tried going on differant forums, but still the same! Did I do something or is something wrong? Is there a shortage of gold? Help!

You are in the right forum. Post this in the Q&A forum (make a new topic) and you will get more answers.

another question from annoying me... okay... does the 100 reports in sixth months count towards your total 300 reports, or are they separate...... and are there things moderators can't do that the gaian public can

Reports are not the same thing as Posts. The reports are the Report Forms you submit. The posts are what you do on the forums.

Moderators and normal Gaians have the same rights, but Moderators are expected to be setting a good example to the users they are serving. Good social skills would be a good start.

No, spamming is not good. Having conversation in multiple forums is good. It shows that you know where to post and that you are active.

so... you would be good if you have 5546 post, even if most are for roleplays

So long as you have over 300 posts then that criteria is met. However the quality of the posts will be reviewed as part of the process to see if you would be a suitable candidate.
It not uncommon for users to be regulars of one forum over the others so residing in the Roleplay forums isn't a problem but take a look around the rest of the site too. As a moderator you will have to be familiar with the workings of as many forums as possible and by posting in a variety you are providing us with information on how you interact with the gaian population, something that will happen regularly should you be accepted.

Whats the first thing you must do once you become an assistant? I really wish to work for Gaia in home for now until I am out at San Jose.

That information will be given to you if you are accepted wink

I know that when an application is submitted, the user must wait and they'll contact you if you're accepted. If you're not accepted, do they contact you and tell you that you weren't and why?

Also, if someone's not accepted for a reason like "not enough posts" or "not enough reports filed", would they be able to apply again later?

I believe you are not alerted if you are not accepted. Your application status will state that you are denied. And at this time there is no way for denied applicants to reapply.

Yes they will notify if you don't get accepted with the reason why. There may be the possibility to re-apply at a later date but it's not available at the moment so best to nail it first time if your truely interested.
Well i am going to start finding ToS violations. I really need something to do on my spare time at my university. be prepared hackers xd

edit : If i get the 100 exact reports that make sense am i allowed to apply right then or should i get 150 to be safe

So, I know it says in the FAQ that mods don't get paid, but I heard somewhere that they get paid in gaia gold. Is there any truth to this at all?

yes it is

This is NOT true.

Actually, this is true. We are compensated for the time we spend modding the site because, as a result of modding, we miss out on normal gold earning activities such as booty grab, towns, etc. ^_^
