Hi I need help!

Both my sisters accounts were banned for 3 days today because of the moderator application form. My sister Olivia applied a while back on her account to be a mod but was denied haha no suprise there, but recently my sister Elena applied on her new account (she couldn't remember if she ever tried to apply on her first account to which she lost the password) and today both of my sisters accounts were banned because it said that trying to apply for mod position on different accounts isn't allowed but they aren't the same person *they use the same laptop though* they are sisters and want to know if there is any way to clear up this mistake, they can provide proof that they are two different people, so is there anything they can do?

No i don't believe but they could pm a mod about it and they should knew that they can't do it on the same computer cause the ip would be same as the computer they are on and are they old enough to apply got be 18 too but if they are but they still can't do it on the same computer or laptop but if they did it on a different computer it would be allowed but just the system thinks its the same person sinice the ip is the same as the last one

Oh that sucks, because we only have one computer in the house.
So I should tell them to PM a mod about it, what kind of mod?

edit: should I just to it from this account since they can't access theirs and explain the situation? and how are they suppose to know that applying on the same computer would get them banned, i don't think it says anything like that on the front page, if it does then i am mistaken sorry

I talked to a mod and they said I could file a ticket but by the time the ticket was reviewed my ban would be lifted anyway. >_<;

I have another question maybe you could help with.
In the email gaia sent it said that this banning would make it so that no one would be able to apply for a mod position or something like that, is that definite? Because I was already denied a position but my sister was working pretty hard to become one and it just doesn't seem fair that because of this misunderstanding she won't be able to be a mod.

well if it said that and the ticket would lifted it i don't know it might take it away but pretty much i think you wont beable too and once your denied from mod you can't reapply until they make a system that will allow it =/ well im not real sure on how it works just some people get denied they can't apply again but im not real sure about that question maybe someone else will get on and answer your questions much better then my answer.

volley15... though the process is quicker these days, to give you an example of "wait time". I applied in October of 2008, I did not receive a reply until late February 2009. The best thing to do, is just do what you normally do, and don't worry too much about your application.

Wait times vary greatly. For me, I only had to wait maybe a month. It depends on how many applications they have to go through.

If you feel this ban was incorrect it may still be good to file a ticket regarding the situation so that if the ban is found to be incorrect the situation can be made note of.
If someone has had a moderator application rejected, and has been told that they may not apply again, then they should not apply again through the application system. However, in this specific case if you/a sister would like to apply again in the future I guess it would probably be acceptable to contact a moderator (just one, do not contact multiple people about the same thing!), to ask about the situation. It would be very important to make all the details of the situation clear from the start though, including
- That you were rejected and told you may not apply again.
- The name of the account that was rejected/told not to apply again, if it is not the account that is being used to contact the moderator.
...as if it is attempted to apply in any way without openly disclosing that information it would look awfully bad. <_<;
And I cannot promise that the desired answer would be given, of course, so it should not be expected that this would result in being permitted to reapply.

And even if someone is not a moderator it is still possible for them to be helpful and contribute to the community simply by being a good member of the community - good members of the community are just as important as good moderators. ^_^

You need to have 300 posts to apply. Mods are expected to have a decent knowledge of a variety of areas on Gaia, and since you'll more than likely be dealing with a lot of forum related reports, they want to make sure you have some knowledge of forum rules and where to post etc. 3nodding
