I just came to know that the applications for the post of moderators have opened up again. I tried to apply but then realized I was 55 forum post away from the required criteria. My question is that how long will the applications be taken or is there a time frame for the submission of the applications?

There isn't a time frame for that.
Basically,when a slot is opened when an applicant is accepted/denied,there is a slot open for another candidate that wishes to apply.
So on and so forth.

The spots open up quickly and are filled just as quickly.
You just have to click the link at the right time. 3nodding

I think they open it in batches, so if 5 people have been accepted/rejected then they open is up for 5 more people (I'm just picking the number 5 out of thin air, for all I know it might be 10, or 23).

Still, nice to know that things are moving again ^_^

Firefox is recommended for the application form. Otherwise it will just refresh the page. You should switch to another browser (firefox if you can)

Here is Firefox. It's free to download and is highly recommended over IE.

IE is frankly evil, unfortunately if you can't use another browser to apply you're not going to be able to. It sucks, but it's life.

XxIMaverickIxX - I would serious suggest not doing anything drastic to boost your count. If you've less than 300 posts that's a sign you're not ready to apply this time around. They'll be open again in the future.
