You must apply through this forum to become a moderator. Though noticeable good behavior and reporting offenses against the ToS may look good on your application.

Oh, okay, thanks. c:

At this time, there is no way for declined applicants to reapply. You'll have to wait until Gaia either revises the application system, or creates a procedure for denied users to reapply.

]= That's really disappointing

I was declined because.... "Reporting activity level not on par with expected standards."

I plan on bringing up my reporting level, but it makes me sad that I won't be able to apply again.
ok i think i get what this means but just to make sure can you please excplain this i was declined because of the following: Reporting activity level not on par with expected standards

Generally it sounds like it means that you aren't reporting violations around the site enough. We have been told that user reports are important for being considered for moderator training. Your reports help show that you want to help the site even without the status, and they draw a fairly clear picture of how well you already understand the Terms of Service/Rules & Guidelines around the site.

If you aren't reporting much, they don't know much about you with understanding the site rules. A mod needs to have a firm grasp of them sweatdrop

For more clarification on this and your specific scenario you can PM a moderator. They will be happy to help you understand this so that you can work on it towards the future.
Sounds real cool, I don't have 300 forum posts. So like, it gives me the error " Sorry, you must have over 300 forum posts to become a moderator. Please try again at a later time."

I know why and such, but what do you all get now? The OP hasn't updated the post for a while.

The OP won't be updating the first two posts unless there is a major change to be made to the FAQ.

If apps are closed it will say so. If you are getting the error that you don't have enough posts, that is a specific error towards you saying that you don't meet the criteria quite yet but can apply at a later time when you do. In this case, you need 300 forum posts. Your account hasn't been active enough in the forums.

There are other account specific errors, and they are mentioned in the 2nd post of this thread which is the FAQ.
I dont understand why I was declined. It was due to reporting not enough people. :/ I think it is pretty unfair that you need to have a certain amounts of reports to be a moderator. I reported mainly misplaced threads and such. No one else i seen did anything else against the TOS. How would I be able to talk to someone about this? Its completely unfair, the application did not say that i needed to report a certain amouint of people. :/

Your reports are a way that let Gaia see how well you know the Terms of Service since a moderator is expected to know them really well. If you've not got that many then that means Gaia can't really see how well you do know Gaia's rules.

The application does not explicitly state all of the criteria, there are many reasons a person can be declined.

Just remember though that how you act when you are declined may be taken into consideration if you ever reapply. Fighting it or kicking up a major fuss doesn't give a good impression at all.

I would strongly suggest you take the reason to heart and possibly inquire about reapplying next year.

@kikyochanx33 - The first post is kept pretty up to date and when information changes it is updated.
