Can we please make "show all images" for default?
It really screws up people in Mini Shops cause Newbies won't know how to show all images. Well they would, but they won't for like awhile. Does that make sense? xD |

Well they would, but they won't for like awhile. Does that make sense? xD  I suggested the exact same thing: Not only "newbies" don't know about this feature, many oldbies don't know that they can change their image settings either: "Firn the Panda" I just have a minor request (that will most likely be ignored, but asking won't hurt) - Can the default option PLEASE be the "Show all images" option and people can change it to the "white list pictures" ? When only photobucket images get displayed all other images will be displayed as links and many new members will never figure out that they are actually meant to be images. ( I mean, most members don't even seem to know where the account settings are!) This could be disturbing to many shops in the mini shop section. I can see that my suggestion got COMPLETELY ignored, which isn't a big surprise. What upsets me though is that you didn't even bother to make an announcement about this. "Let's make it so, that as few people as possible get their images displayed". I s this what you want? Gaia really starts to piss me off.... This IS a problem for some shop owners, you know? |

Is it possible with all these new features that some things are getting messed up. For instance the new CAPTCHA 2 word image nor the "can't see text" options are showing up in the post that requires me to type these 2 words. Could the new showing images feature be affecting the CAPTCHA?

This is a pain to anyone who hangs out in any of the art-related forums, especially those of us who bought our own domain/web space in hopes of avoiding image down-time on forums. It would be nice to have "show all images" as the default - that way people in Mini Shops, B/C pets, and the like don't think that something is wrong with their browser and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, I can see that your intentions are good, but setting this new system up and then setting the default as "show no images" is just overkill. -Zyrael |

I'm glad that some images are being shown again especially tektek.org, in fact I think the option to let images be shown or not is a good idea also.
However it can be a pain if you need to see all the images on a specific page in a thread or forum. Overall I don't think it is such a bad idea, because a lot of images can really slow down the loading time of a page and make peoples computer freeze that don't don't have adequate RAM or virtual memory. |

Unfortunately, newbies are particularly susceptible to these. We're hoping the "show all images on this page" link will make this less painful for shop owners. |

Thanks for these new options; even though they are a security measure, it also helps people who prefer to view text in general in posts rather than tons of images people sometimes put in their post styles n_n

"Panagrammic" Can we have our own whitelist? Cool idea, but not for now; there's a single global whitelist. Can we add <some site> to the whitelist? We are fine with adding sites to the whitelist, but it should really be a) a fairly popular site with b) a well-established moderation policy. My Tektek rando-sigs don't work! Yah, unfortunately that's the reason we had to disable Tektek in the first place. The random sigs allow you to link to any image, including images that are not on the whitelist. As a result, we can't treat the random signatures as whitelisted images.
Well is there a way to find out what sites are on the whitelist besides photobucket and some of tektek? Is there a way to fix it so we can have a random sig :/ I thought that was one of the best features of tektek.. Major art collectors use it to show off all they have collected :/ I hate not being able to have one. Are any of the sites that shorten links on the whitelist? :/ Photobuckets links are way to long to have in a sig that has limited characteristics. :/ |

If this is such a problem - Why doesn't gaia create it's own Image hosting site which would be safe - and would allow random images & could make the URL's tiny...
Because this whole thing sucks (but at the same time I completely understand) |
