I be banned?

So a user by the name of Accoount Verification Bill Private Meassages me, and says my account has been reported, and gives no reason. He asked for my name, username, password with spaces between each character, and birthday. I looked this user up, and it seems he has only been a member of Gaia for a few days. There is no special title to his name like Administrator or anything like that. I'm thinking this is a spammer. What should I do? If anyone has any information regarding him, please, hurry. It said I only have ten minutes to reply.

I did some advanced google searching and I found some other people have gotten the same PM.
If I remember correctly, admins are not supposed to ask you personal information and even the password to your account.
It sounds like a hacker to me...since they are not even on the complete list of admins.

Thanks sis. You always come through for me. I reported him, just in case. I looked him up in forums, and saw nothing but negative about him, so it tipped off I should report him. I'm keeping the PM until something happens.
Are admins supposed to reply to reports, or no? ._.

No problemo. X3...I dunno about admins replying to reports.
I know that if some probably gets enough reports they get banned. I am guessing... sweatdrop

That's a scammer, block him and move on. Admins have EVERY username and password in a database, they don't need to ask you for anything.

You will get quite a few of those. I have been on Gaia since '06 and I've had tons of people try that. First off you can tell he cannot spell Account correctly- thats a tip off right there. And chances are there are many other spelling errors in it. People make accounts like that just for the purpose to trying to scam. Once that account has been banned they make a new one and try again. A Gaia Administator or anything above a normal Gaia user will have a colored name pertaining to their job/rank. Not to mention it would say what they are below their username. You always want to report those types of PMs right away and then delete it and, if wished, ignore the user. And sometimes Admins will reply thanking you for you filing a report. I've gotten a few back saying this. Hope that helps.

^ This. Anyone who ever asks you for any account information isn't going to be part of the staff. People are always creating accounts and make up names and messages to convince people that they're part of the staff and take your account. A real administrator/moderator will never ask you for your log-in credentials.
