I've never gotten one of these a scam PMs, but I'll be on the lookout. It's sad what these scammers will try just to get into your account.
i wouldn't be surprised if i fell for it lol
I got one of those messages once. I didn't believe for a second someone reported my account. I mean, I know I did nothing wrong. Then the message also asked me personal info and threatened me with banning. So I reported it. I haven't had that kind of message in a long time.

But there was another kind of message I got, and my BFF got one too. Good thing she warned me about it. She said a friend from her list sent her a PM with a link to another part of gaia. When she clicked it, she came upon the opening page of gaia online, and she was offline. She was puzzled by that, but then she noticed the link on the address bar was different to gaia's homepage. She knew right then it was a scam to get her password.

When I got the message with the same link, I reported it and told my BFF to delete her "friend" from her list immediately.

In college people tell me Gaia Online is stupid and easy to hack, but I tell them I have never been hacked before. They say it'll happen sooner or later, but I've never given my password to anyone and I change it every once in a while, so I'm not worried.

Why would you fall for it? I mean, just use common sense.

If it's a real administrator, why would they ask you for your password? Don't they have enough access to find it out by themselves? After all, when you lose your password, you send an e-mail to the site and they send it to you or give you a link to make a new one so the previous one is deleted.

A real administrator doesn't ask for a password because they can find out on their own. Fake Admin can't do that; they don't have that kind of access to the website.
I think this is really helpful because a lot of people have lost their money or items by phishing.
(Have a nice day biggrin biggrin biggrin blaugh blaugh blaugh )
Thank you for the info. ^^ I've gotten one or two of those messages before, but I went and reported them. -__-;

Hope this will help other people out.
this would be helpful to me about a month ago, when i got hacked

Truer words couldnt have been spoken.

If I remember correctly, Ive had two hackers use pms on me... Reported thank you very much.

And I never go to gaia ralley anymore.. the only times I do is iwth my BFF and we race each other.. and I never oblige to anybodys challenge but mah BFF's.. dont trust lots of them ever since I heard about the hacking taht can happen... Ive spent way to much on this account to be hacked by some loser, who cant buy his/her own gaia cash, monthly collectibles on his/her own. Even if there mom or dad wont do it... WORK FOR THE MONEY! DO CHORES FOR IT! Gah...

So anyways I find hackers and scammers to be losers who cant buy there own stuff and depend on there "hacking" skills to get them what they want.. and then tehre account gets banned because the person they hacked comes back different account, full fury and reports them ASAP.

Edit: iam not trying to be mean to those who cant get gaia cash and what-not, But at least you dont hack. Iam just saying that most hackers dont spend there money on gaia [ duh, hits herself on the noggin ] instead they deicide "i know Ill hack somebodys account so i can have lots of items that make nothing change in mah life.. only mah life on gaia!" and I just hate hackers..a nd the worst thing is for somebody who didnt spend any money instead they worked hard on puzzles and stuff and saved up for what they wanted... An dthen down the road a hacker might get them. Thats horrible! burning_eyes
A friend sadly gave her information and is no longer in control of her account. Who should she report to get her account back?

Well to be fair they don't even need gaia cash or real money. I have only bought a couple of mc with real money, the rest is just playing games and selling stuff.

Hacking defeats the point of gaia, which is to have fun earning gold to buy pretty shiney things. If you hack what's the point? May aswell not have joined gaia to start with.
Thats true too... But what I think is horrible, is the gaia users who dont spend anything on gaia. Instead they work hard to save up for what they want.. and then somewhere down the road a hacker gets them. Thats just mean and horrible and I despise who ever would do such a thing! stressed
