So. Anyone ever get people offering to "make a free profile" and then asking for user names and passwords to get it to work? Never got that kind of scam before, but now some guy's insisting he make me a profile and asserts, "don't worry, I won't hack u". 9_9

The reason beind people getting thier accounts scammed and hacked into that poeple NOWADAYS don't READ the rule. I MEAN BACK IN 2004 THERE WAS NO bots no CYBERS no nothing just us and our posts and people having a great time.

But now it's different,REAL Gaians are scamming and CYBERING and what not and it's no ones fault. Not the MODS, not the people but the person in control of the account. That person knows better then to give away their PASSWORD to anyone.

I personally don't think there are such things as NEWCOMERS now,reason being that people are taking advantage of the system and they are making gold and items faster. People can walk up to you and say:

I wus hacked please help me

and normally people would start giving that person support saying:

"I hope you get your things back"
"I hope this helps"
"Good Luck"

or some will acutally give them items/gold to help them then....

"OMG what happened"

that persons avatar is naked and gone,so is the gold and items the person gave.

Even if there are NEWCOMERs still around today people won't treat them with the same respect they got when the other person first joined.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if a link takes you to a Gaia like site, and you get the Warming, If you have it turned on, look at the URL. Sometimes a legit Gaia page will come up with the warning, but if you check the URL You'll be safe all the time.

If the URL does not start with http://www.gaiaonline.com then it is not an official Gaia site and the user who sent it to you should be reported, especially if it's in a thread.

It's quite funny how people still send those passwords even after the coloured usernames and everything.
Ever since then, I've only gotten like, One scam PM.
Although, I've still been seeing many fake Gaia Login pages.

What makes me laugh, is that when you pull it up on another tab, you're 'not logged in' in that window, yet your logged in and posting on the other.

Dude, my dog could hack my account... I taught him how to type and pay attention when I did any typing, so my dog knows my password, so if anyone gets a message saying woof, bark, or even yip, it's not me, it's my dog...

I find it so idiotic to pose as a staff member. Or anyone for the gaia team. They never ask for your password because well, they already have the stinking infomation. How else could a staff member ban you and all the junk, they have all the info that you gave them when you signed up.

My advice, background check everything. I once got hacked by a key logger who advertised something off site. Those are the ones that are tricky. Beware of those, and not to repeat, but I am going to, DO A BACKGROUND CHECK. Make sure the site exists. Even if it is under work (as they claim it to be) if it was real you could still enter it.

some how hacked through my computers IP ******** gay man...
